Candidates for this position will work with internal resources and external vendors to develop and maintain essential IT infrastructure, including operating systems, security tools, applications, servers, email systems, laptops, desktops, software, and hardware to meet business user needs. This position will coordinate support of systems with external vendors by recommending upgrades, patches, and new applications and equipment to support business objectives. In addition, this position will provide technical support and guidance to users and participate in projects and initiatives to advance the STOs business areas. This position has responsibility for the analysis of hardware and software in a distributed networking environment utilizing accepted network management and monitoring software and systems and will deal with moderate to advanced levels of technical systems. This position will assist in preparing program documentation, procedures, processes, and controls. The operator will also perform other duties as assigned. Education: A bachelors degree from an accredited university is preferred but commensurate experience may be accepted. Business, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field of study highly desirable. Certifications in areas of technology, such as A+, security+, or other network or IT areas are preferred. Experience: Four (4) years of experience working within an Information Technology organization. Familiarity with standard concepts, practices, procedures, and troubleshooting required to support computer hardware and software installations. Experience identifying and resolving computer and system problems including compatibility conflicts, application operations, and hardware malfunctions. The ability to support users in the use of application software. Experience communicating and coordinating with vendors, users, and other IT staff. Working knowledge and experience with Microsoft operating systems, systems security management practices, or infrastructure is preferred.
