Title: Linux/ Unix Administrator Location: Onsite, Mechanicsburg, PA (Local to PA) Duration: 6+ Month MOI: Phone then Video Visa: USC, GC Description The position performs all activities related to the deployment, administration, and support of the enterprise LINUX operations, enterprise Storage Area Network operations, and NetBackup enterprise data protection, supporting the AOPC and UJS case management applications. The role involves collaborating with other LINUX/SAN team members to ensure the enterprise's successful implementation of LINUX services. *This position is eligible for right-to-hire after six months. Job Duties Installs, configures, and maintains Red Hat Enterprise Linux servers. Oversees and performs system updates, patches, and regular maintenance to ensure optimal performance and security. Administers and maintains a highly available Linux environment, configuring performance, capacity, and availability management of the Linux servers. Manages virtualization platforms (OpenShift, KVM, VMware) and ensures efficient resource utilization. Monitors and analyzes system performance and proactively resolves issues. Ensures operational business using a trouble ticket system (troubleshooting, third/fourth level support). Customization and creation of automation processes and automatic system configurations (scripting, Satellite) and IT Security support to implement hardening/securing server systems and their services. Collaborates with cross-functional teams to support and enhance continuous integration and deployment processes. Participation in on-call rotation Minimum Qualifications Two years or more of IT Infrastructure admin/management. Technical Requirements Proficiency in shell scripting and advanced scripting languages like Bash and PowerShell. In-depth understanding of networking concepts and services (DNS, DHCP, SMTP, SNMP). Practical administration experience in virtualized environments (OpenShift, KVM, VMware). Advanced knowledge of containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes. Advanced Knowledge Monitoring and reporting tools. Knowledge of SAN management. Knowledge of veritas or alternative tape management systems Knowledge of disaster recovery policies and procedures is helpful. Willingness to train and work with others on knowledge exchange.
