| Locals are preferred Position: Power BI Developer Location: Chicago, IL Duration: 6 Months Skilled Power BI Developer with strong experience in designing and developing BI solutions, data analysis, and dashboard/report creation using Power BI. Key Responsibilities: Develop, design, and maintain Power BI dashboards, reports, and data models to support business needs. Gather and translate business requirements into actionable reports and visualizations. Work closely with business analysts, data engineers, and other stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver effective BI solutions. Conduct regular meetings with stakeholders to ensure the alignment of data solutions with business goals. Connect to various data sources (e.g., SQL, Excel, Azure, etc.), clean and transform data to make it usable within Power BI. Implement and manage row-level security on data and perform audit logs. Data Masking experience will be added advantage. Optimize dashboards and data models to enhance performance and user experience. Monitor and improve the performance of existing Power BI solutions. Follow and enforce best practices in data visualization, data modeling, and coding. Qualifications: Strong proficiency in Power BI, including Power Query, DAX, and Power BI Service. Experience with data modeling, database design, and data warehousing concepts. Proficient in SQL and working with various data sources. Knowledge of ETL processes and tools (e.g., SSIS). Familiarity with Azure cloud services (ADF, Synapse) Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Microsoft certifications related to Power BI or data analytics. Knowledge of other BI tools (e.g., Tableau, QlikView) is an advantage. Experience with advanced analytics and machine learning in Power BI is a plus. Experience in agile project management methodologies is a big plus. Must be able to design reports with data masking and row level security. Should be able to manage customers.
