API Architect/Developer Location: US Louisville KY Contract Key Responsibilities: Architectural Leadership: Design and oversee the development of scalable, secure, and high-performance APIs tailored for cloud environments. Cloud Migration Strategy: Lead the migration of on-premise applications to cloud platforms, ensuring minimal disruption and alignment with business goals. Technical Oversight: Provide technical guidance to the development team, ensuring adherence to best practices in API development, cloud architecture, and data engineering. Solution Design: Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions, ensuring alignment with the overall IT strategy. API Management: Oversee the implementation of API management platforms and best practices, including API security, versioning, and documentation. Integration: Ensure seamless integration of APIs with backend services, databases, and third-party applications within cloud environments. Performance Optimization: Continuously monitor and optimize API performance, scalability, and reliability in cloud environments. Stakeholder Communication: Act as the primary technical liaison between business units, development teams, and cloud service providers. Mentorship: Mentor and guide junior developers and engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and innovation. Technical Expertise: Proficiency in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP). Strong experience with API development frameworks and tools (e.g., Swagger, Postman, Apigee, Azure API Management). Expertise in modern cloud-native architecture, including microservices, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and serverless computing. Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or .NET. Extensive experience in data engineering, including ETL processes, data pipelines, and big data technologies. Cloud Migration: Deep understanding of cloud migration strategies, including re-hosting, re-platforming, and re-architecting. Security: Strong knowledge of API security best practices, including OAuth, JWT, and encryption. Leadership: Proven experience in leading cross-functional teams and managing complex projects from inception to completion. Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Required Qualifications: Experience: 6 to 10 years of experience in API development, data engineering, and cloud migration, with a proven track record of leading large-scale cloud modernization projects. Certifications: Cloud certifications (AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, etc.) are highly desirable. Tool Proficiency: Experience with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and infrastructure as code (Terraform, CloudFormation).
