Subject Matter Expert of a specific (often specialized) application technology with demonstrative ability to convey both technical and functional concepts. The OUC Technology Division is looking for a part-time App. Technical Specialist (Entry) to provide weekend IT support services on the 911/311 operations call floor. This resource will be responsible for assisting / leading special projects as requested by the OUC. The resource will be responsible for project oversight, application management, cost analysis, and overall system functionality. In addition, the resource will be required to support the system, or network (LAN / WAN, etc.) as well as monitor applications for availability and performance, as needed. The resource will be required to work / train during the week for the first few weeks on the job. Once the resource is fully trained, the resource will be scheduled to work 10-hour shifts on Saturday and Sunday. Key Responsibilities: Technical Communication: Clearly convey technical and functional concepts for a specific technical specialty to various audiences. Documentation: Prepare complex technical documentation, ensuring accuracy and clarity. Project Management: Plan, coordinate, and monitor project activities to meet deadlines and objectives. Leadership: Lead projects, ensuring compliance with established standards and procedures. Technical Support: Provide technical diagnostics, troubleshooting, setup, and configuration for hardware and software. Customer Service: Respond to and troubleshoot end-user technical concerns in a timely and professional manner. Hardware Maintenance: Diagnose and repair peripheral equipment as needed. Issue Tracking: Track and escalate open technical issues in a public safety IT environment. Process Improvement: Provide technical assistance to improve program designs and operations. Application Support: Support application functionality and access. Troubleshooting: Determine the root cause of technical issues, including network, hardware, and software problems. Desktop Support: Provide desktop imaging, deployment, packaging, and break/fix services. Documentation: Analyze and document preventative maintenance and technical processes. Technical Writing: Draft standard operating procedure documents and other technical documentation. Process Improvement: Contribute to process improvement initiatives. Public Safety IT Support: Provide IT support in a public safety environment.
