Job Description: The Technical Writer will create technical documentation, including standard operation procedures, user documentation, how to guides, integration guides, computer systems operation guides, and product specifications. They work with other technical experts, such as engineers and software developers, to ensure that the information they provide is accurate, well formatted, and easy to understand. Objectives of this role: Develop comprehensive documentation that meets organizational standards Gain deep understanding of products and services, and translate complex information into simple, polished, engaging content Write user friendly content that meets the needs of target audience, turning insights into language for user success Evaluate current content and ensure it is up to date Responsibilities: Research, outline, write, and edit content, working closely with various departments to understand project requirements Gather information from subject matter experts and develop, organize, and write procedure manuals, technical specifications, and process documentation Work with development and support leads to identify documentation repositories, revise, edit, and determine best solutions for data compilation and centralized storage Develop content in alternative media forms for maximum usability, with consistent voice across all documentation Determine the clearest and most logical way to present information for greatest reader comprehension Analyze information required for the development or update of policy, procedure, and form documentation Review and/or copyedit content developed by other members of the team Required Skills: Two or more years of experience as an effective technical writer 2 Years Proven ability to quickly learn and understand complex subject matter 3 Years Experience in writing documentation and procedure manuals for various audiences 3 Years Superb written communication skills, with a keen eye for detail 2 Years Strong research skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in grammar and style 2 Years Experience in working with engineers to improve user experience (ex: design, UI), refine content, and create visuals and diagrams for technical suppor 2 Years Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously 2 Years Nice to have: Bachelors or Masters degree in Technical Writing, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred but not required 2 Years Keywords: user interface information technology golang purchase order wtwo North Carolina Technical Writer - Hybrid [email protected] |
