Job Title: Release Train Engineer Location: Hartford, CT office 2-3 days (Tues, Wed, Thurs) Would consider Newark if superstar, or Portland, ME. However wants them in Hartford ideally Duration: 6 Months Interview: Video ( Two interviews first with John then another with his business partner) Visa: USC, GC, GC-EAD Need Linked in with pic VP in group insurance: John Calabrese Gap in product delivery, Going through transformation looking for release train engineer and IT Product Manager, moving journey to be release train, IT project program manageenr skills, good executive skills Jira or rally Agile transformations being a release train engineer Group insurance experience is plus. Insurance or Financial services experience. Group insurance is not as important than RTE/ Program Experience. Will be a difficult find of RTE and Group Insurance, IF we find that, then that may be a hit. An RTE who has delivered products would work. Program manager with Agile background and delivered products this is Ideal. If both, Ideal. Coach would be considered also.. experience across all methodologies is very important. Spc, Scrum master certifications would be helpful. Building partnerships across org. Establish Relationships. Comm Skills is very important, talk on presentations. Your Team As a Director, Release Train Engineer/Program Manager in our Group Insurance Product Organization , you will partner with Chief Product Owners, Solution Architect Engineers, Release Train Engineers, Scrum Masters, and Technology Delivery Professionals to improve our Group Insurance Product Implementations. You will ensure strategy and execution alignment through collaboration with colleagues and stakeholders to solve sophisticated business problems, deploy innovative products, services and experiences to ensure our products are competitive in the marketplace! In addition to your deep expertise and experience in delivery, you will bring excellent problem solving, communication and teamwork skills, strong business insight, an inclusive leadership demeanor and a continuous learning focus to all that you do. Here is what you can expect on a typical day Serve as servant leadership for the teams and broader organization and act as Program Manager and coach for the delivery of new Group Insurance Products to the marketplace, consisting of up to 10 Agile teams. Stand-up, launch, and ensure the ART stays on course by facilitating all if its events, ceremonies, and processes while assisting the ART in delivering value and driving steadfast improvement. Synthesize, track, and communicate Program Increment (PI) objectives, risks, and dependencies with key partners; supervise execution of features. This includes ARTs, Scrum, and Kanban Teams across the while Group Insurance (GI) Organization. Ensure strategic alignment through collaboration with Chief Product Owners, Solution Architect Engineers, Tech Leads, and other partners and collaborators on the ART and across the organization. Provide an outstanding blend of strategic and tactical leadership. The Skills & Expertise You Bring Minimum 1 year of experience as a Release Train Engineer or Program Manager Ability to lead independently with minimal guidance and effectively leverage diverse ideas, experiences, thoughts, and perspectives to the benefit of the organization. Experience with Agile Development Methodologies and Program Management. Knowledge of business concepts, tools, and processes that are needed for making sound decisions in the context of the Group Insurance. Ability to learn new skills and knowledge on an on-going basis through self-initiative and solving challenges. Excellent problem solving, communication, and collaboration skills along with leadership skills to manage many new Product Implementations. Significant experience and/or deep expertise with several of the following: Proficiency in Scaled Agile Framework, with proven expertise in scaling and delivery across teams of various maturity including start-ups. Expertise in all aspects of Agile Team Facilitation including Pre PI-Planning, PI Planning, Scrum-of-Scrums, System Demos, and Inspect & Adapt Proven grasp and practical experience in various Agile toolchains, including Jira, Jira Align, Rally, and Miro. Strong leadership skills, both strategic and tactical, with a high degree of emotional intelligence and building partnerships. Background in Agile delivery with a success record in building new products, capabilities, solutions, and teams. Preferred Qualifications Certified Release Train Engineer certification Experience in serving as a Release Train Engineer within the financial services (ideally Group Insurance) industry across multiple verticals which can be technical or business in nature. High degree of comfort in interacting with Senior Leadership Teams.
