Job Title:  Infrastructure/Telecom Project Manager

Location : Chicago IL - will start out 5 days a week on site.  Then go to 3-4 days

Duration: 6+Month

Work Authorization: GC or US citizen

Ideal Start Date:   ASAP

Minimum Qualifications and Wow Factors 

               Describe a normal day in this role Team is focused on
technology infrastructure & telecom projects on new builds and renovation construction projects:

             Familiarity with working with construction set drawings with architects and engineers during design process from a technology / IT infrastructure perspective

             High level of detail preparing network configuration spreadsheet to meet routed-edge requirements, listing jack IDs, device specifics, etc. from as-builts/patch panel schedules; familiarity with architectural drawings a plus

             Request IP addresses after obtaining MAC addresses

             Request VPN access

             Conduct IT Closet surveys with network specialist

             Familiar with wireless surveys

             Managing department relocations regarding phone and computer relocations, etc.

             Managing projects focused on device deployment rollouts with some oversight for those rollouts with RUSH's internal clinical information systems

Description:                        Senior Technology Project Manager in the Ambulatory Transformation Center. The Project Manager initiates, plans, executes, and finalizes the technology component implementations for all assigned projects within established budget/schedule. Utilizing standard Rush methodologies, the Project Manager manages the efforts of all team members (organizational resources and engaged third party vendors/consultants) to deliver technology components according to project scope and goals. The appropriate application and/or rigor of methodology processes and deliverables utilized is based upon the scope and complexity of technologies as identified during project initiation/discovery. The Project Manager also oversees relevant quality control and report progress throughout the project lifecycle. In most situations, assigned technology implementations will be components associated with organizational construction capital programs/projects. Exemplifies the Rush mission, vision and values and acts in accordance with Rush policies and procedures.

Required Job Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree.

Strong familiarity with Microsoft Office, Visio, and project management software.

Thorough knowledge of formal project management methodologies.

Preferred Job Qualifications:

At least seven years of project management experience.

Experience with implementing healthcare applications and technologies.

PMP certification.

Physical Demands:

Physical Demands Hours outside normal business hours may be required to meet project deadlines.

Sitting for extended periods of time.

Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and other devices and objects.

Physically able to participate in training sessions, presentations, and meetings.

Responsibilities:

Directs and manages project development and progress from beginning to end.

Manages multiple projects simultaneously.

Defines and documents within the project initiation deliverables, the project technology scope, goals, and deliverables supporting business goals in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.

Drafts and submits budget proposals and recommends subsequent budget changes.

Builds, develops, and grows any business relationships vital to the success of the project.

Estimates and identifies the resources and participants needed to achieve project goals.

Negotiates with contractors and internal department managers for the acquisition of required personnel.

Develops scaled project plans and associated communications documents using standard tools.

Plans will address all aspects of the standard technology implementation lifecycle including design, procurement, installation, build/configure, test, train, go-live, and close.

Plans will include a work breakdown schedule including activities/tasks, responsible parties, milestones, and schedule.

Facilitates or participates in routine project team meetings to establish and continually manage project requirements and expectations with team members and other stakeholders.

Coaches, mentors, motivates, and supervises project team members and contractors, influencing them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work.

Determines the frequency and content of status reports from the project team, analyzes results, and troubleshoots problem areas.

Tracks and reports status against project plans to appropriate stakeholders and senior management based on agreed upon communication plans.

Identifies and manages project dependencies and critical path. Identifies and resolves issues/conflicts and/or escalates where appropriate for resolution.

Proactively manages potential scope and schedule changes. Conducts project post mortems and creates a recommendations report.
