| From: Naveen M, Siri Info [email protected] Reply to: [email protected] Hello, Greetings from Siri InfoSolutions We have an immediate position, please find the below details Role name: Mainframe Storage Administrator Location: Allen, TX Duration: 6+ months Contract Role Description: - Storage Management:** Oversee the administration, configuration, and optimization of mainframe storage systems, including DASD, virtual tape libraries, and tape management systems. - HSM Migration and Backup: Lead the planning and execution of HSM (Hierarchical Storage Management) migrations and backups, ensuring data integrity, availability, and compliance with organizational standards.- Vantage Storage Software: Manage and maintain Vantage Storage software for performance monitoring, capacity planning, and optimization of storage resources. - Hitachi Disk Replication: Administer and manage Hitachi disk replication processes, ensuring data consistency, availability, and disaster recovery readiness. - Virtual Tape Systems: Oversee the management and operation of virtual tape systems, ensuring efficient storage utilization and data protection. - RMM (Removable Media Manager): Administer RMM, including the management of physical and virtual media, and ensuring adherence to retention policies. - Performance Tuning: Perform regular performance analysis and tuning of storage systems to meet or exceed performance objectives. - Incident Management: Provide expert-level support for troubleshooting and resolving complex storage-related issues, minimizing downtime and data loss. - Capacity Planning: Conduct capacity planning to ensure sufficient storage resources are available to meet current and future demands.- Disaster Recovery: Develop, implement, and test disaster recovery plans for storage systems, ensuring business continuity in case of data loss or corruption. -Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of storage configurations, procedures, and policies. - Mentorship: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior storage administrators, sharing best practices and technical expertise. Essential Skills: Senior Mainframe Storage Administrator The ideal candidate will have over 10 years of hands-on experience in mainframe storage administration, with a strong background in HSM migration and backup, Vantage Storage software, Hitachi disk replication, virtual tape, and RMM (Removable Media Manager). You will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation, maintenance, and optimization of our mainframe storage systems, providing expert-level support for storage infrastructure, and driving key storage initiatives. - Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in mainframe storage administration. - Technical Expertise: - Extensive experience with HSM migration and backup. - Extensive experience with SMS Managed Disk and Tape. - Proficient in Vantage Storage software. - Strong experience with Hitachi disk replication. - In-depth knowledge of virtual tape systems. - Experience with RMM (Removable Media Manager). - Education: Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience. - Certifications: Relevant certifications in mainframe storage administration and related technologies are a plus. Desirable Skills: - Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. - Excellent communication and documentation skills. - Ability to work independently and as part of a team. - Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy. - Other Requirements: Ability to participate in on-call rotations and provide after-hours support as needed.
