Lead .Net Developer - New York State Workers Compensation Board (Hybrid) Location: 15 British American Boulevard, Latham, New York, United States, 12110 Workplace Type: Hybrid (50% onsite in Menands, NY - Capital Region of NYS/Albany) Visa: USC/GC Pay Rate: Up to $50/hr for the right candidate Job Title Lead .Net Developer Role Overview As a Lead .Net Developer, you will support a large modernization project for the New York State Workers Compensation Board. You will be responsible for guiding a team in building visually appealing and responsive front-end applications using ASP.Net Core, Azure, C#, and other cloud technologies. This role requires substantial development lead experience, including code reviews, assigning work within Agile methodology, and ensuring the success of the overall project. Key Responsibilities Technical Leadership: Lead a team of 4-6 developers, ensuring adherence to quality programming practices, testing standards, and project success. Perform code reviews, assign tasks, track progress, and communicate effectively with other development leads and leadership. Front-End Development: Develop visually appealing and responsive front-end applications using ASP.Net Core. Understand and implement user stories and design principles. Cloud Development: Work extensively with cloud technologies, particularly Azure, although experience with other cloud platforms is acceptable. Develop in the cloud environment without the need for Azure DevOps experience, focusing on Azure or similar cloud platforms. Collaboration & Communication: Collaborate with Business Analysts (BAs) to understand, interpret, and validate user stories and requirements. Communicate clearly with the development team to ensure a smooth workflow. Application Architecture: Understand and apply Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) and design standards from an application architecture perspective. Top Skills Required ASP.Net Core Development: Minimum 7 years of experience with ASP.Net Core, with a focus on building visually appealing front-end applications. Experience with MVC, C#, Azure, or similar cloud technologies. Development Leadership: Extensive experience in leading development teams, ensuring quality programming, testing, and project success. Proficient in code reviews, task assignment, Agile methodology, unit testing, and team performance evaluation. Requirement Analysis: Ability to read, understand, and validate user stories and requirements from the BA team. Effectively interpret and communicate these requirements to the development team. Design Principles & SOA: Strong understanding of design principles and Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA). Experience with design standards from an application architecture perspective. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience leading teams of fewer than 10 members. Understanding of user stories, accessibility, and responsive design. Familiarity with microservices and design standards in the .Net ecosystem. Ability to work in a close-knit team on a large modernization project.
