Duties
Summary :

This
position is located in the Accounting Systems and Procedures Section, Staff
Services Office, Highways Division, Department of Transportation. The
position is responsible for conducting analyses and participating in the
development, implementation and maintenance of the Highways accounting system
consistent with fiscal control, recordkeeping and reporting needs, and
statewide accounting guidelines; and participating in developing, revising and
maintaining the accounting and procedures manual for the Highways accounting
system. Specific tasks include participating in the evaluation and
classification of fiscal data for budgetary and management purposes; conducting
fact finding studies to review and analyze fiscal and reporting needs of all
levels of management; analyzing accounting and financial reporting
requirements; preparing system documentation which includes operating
procedures; and conducting user training.

Legal
Authorization to Work Requirement:

The
DOT requires all persons seeking employment with the government of the State
shall be citizens, nationals, or permanent resident aliens of the United
States, or eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment in the United
States.

To
qualify, you must meet all of the following requirements:

Education
: A bachelor's degree from a
regionally accredited four-year college or university with at least twelve
semester credit hours in accounting and/or auditing subjects.

Professional
Accounting Experience
: Two and one-half years of progressively responsible professional
accounting or auditing experience which may have included teaching accounting
at the university level.

Systems
Accounting Experience
: One year of systems accounting work experience in one or a
combination of the following areas:

A.
Experience as a member of a project team for the development and/or
implementation of an integrated accounting system or experience as a member of
a project team concerned with the major analysis of existing accounting
procedures, operations and subsystems and developing and/or implementing
changes to establish an integrated system; or

B.
Experience which involved responsibility for or participation in the
maintenance and control of an accounting system through the analysis and
resolution of accounting problems through systems improvements and changes,
provision of advice to operations or fund control accountants regarding the
system or in the establishment of subsystems.

Professional
BA Qualifications:

Contribute to strategy
sessions and help guide business management in their use of SAP S4/Hana.

Work with department
leadership to create an open dialog to determine issues and derive
enhancement priorities.

Translate business
requirements into business based solutions and ensure an ultimately
working solution in SAP S4/Hana or third party applications.

Troubleshoot SAP S4/Hana
business process in the FA, GM, FM, AP/AR, MM and HCM modules as well as interfaces,
providing resolution and improvements as required.

Utilize change management
methodology and ensure the appropriate documentation is complete to
implement system changes.

Partner with vendors and
third party support teams to resolve system issues, develop enhancements
and project tasks.

Troubleshooting Functional
and technical SAP S4/Hana issues

Collaborating with Account
Analysts, Project Leads and IT team to resolve issues and ensuring
solutions are viable and consistent.

Facilitate and execute end
user acceptance testing following support team processes

Assist with development,
implementation, and management of policies, processes and standards within
the technical environment.

Assist with creating
training documentation.

Be responsive in a fast-paced
adapting environment that requires maximum system performance, minimum
down time, and a high degree of customer satisfaction and confidence.

Strong skills in
communications skills, facilitation, leadership, analytics, and data
modeling.

Must have strong
analytical skills and must have attention to detail.

Demonstrate strong
communications skills and the ability to work independently as well as in
a positive team environment.

Strong interpersonal
skills to build and maintain relationships.

Proficient in data
analysis tools and techniques, with experience in SQL, Excel, and data
visualization tools.

Excellent communication
and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with
technical and non-technical users.

Ability to work
independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects in a
fast-paced environment.

Analytical mindset with
strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Familiarity with Agile
methodologies is a plus.
