| Direct client position Position: Project Manager Duration: 1 Year Location: Montgomery, AL (Onsite from Day 1) Position Description: The State of Alabama's Office of Information Technology is seeking an experienced and proactive Project Manager to oversee the coordination, status reporting, and stability of IT project-oriented work efforts. This role is pivotal in ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet the highest quality standards. The Project Manager will be responsible for establishing and implementing project management processes and methodologies, assembling project plans, directing and monitoring team efforts, and addressing issues as they arise. As a Project Manager, you will play a critical role in coordinating communication across all areas of the enterprise, impacting the scope, budget, risk, and resources of the projects you manage. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge of project management methodologies, resource management practices, and change management techniques. This mid-level management role also involves managing and mentoring project leaders and other project management staff, making it an excellent opportunity for those looking to advance their leadership skills. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: Industry Experience: Typically has 7 years of IT work experience, including 5 or more years managing projects. Experience with projects that involve multiple technologies and functions is expected. Project Management: Demonstrated experience in leading medium to large-sized, moderately to highly complex projects. Proven success in delivering projects on time and within budget. Preferred Experience: Additional experience in the public sector, particularly in managing large-scale IT projects within government agencies. Education Required: Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field. Equivalent work experience may be considered. Project Management certification (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) or successful completion of a recognized project management curriculum is required. Education Preferred: Advanced certifications in project management, such as Agile, Lean Six Sigma, or other relevant areas.
