| Job Title: Senior Java Developer with PowerBuilder Location: Princeton, NJ/ Dallas, TX/ Atlanta, GA/ Chicago, IL (Hybrid) Job Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Java Developer with extensive experience in PowerBuilder to join our dynamic team. This role requires a deep understanding of both Java and PowerBuilder technologies to develop, maintain, and enhance our enterprise applications. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of delivering high-quality software solutions, a strong problem-solving aptitude, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. Key Responsibilities: Software Development: Design, develop, and maintain Java-based applications and PowerBuilder applications according to specifications and best practices. Code Quality: Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code. Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers. Integration: Integrate Java applications with existing systems and PowerBuilder-based applications. Troubleshooting: Identify, analyze, and resolve complex software issues, including debugging and performance tuning. Architecture: Contribute to the design and architecture of scalable and robust software solutions. Collaboration: Work closely with product managers, designers, and other developers to deliver high-quality software on time. Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation for code, processes, and systems. Mentorship: Provide guidance and support to junior developers and assist with their professional development. Continuous Improvement: Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends to drive continuous improvement in development practices. Required Skills and Qualifications: Experience: Minimum of 10 years of professional experience in Java development and at least 4 years of experience with PowerBuilder. Java Skills: Proficient in Java, with experience in Java EE (Enterprise Edition), Spring, Hibernate, and other related technologies. PowerBuilder Skills: Strong knowledge of PowerBuilder, including experience with PowerBuilder versions and related tools. Database Management: Experience with relational databases such as Oracle, SQL Server, or MySQL; proficiency in SQL and database design. Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues. Collaboration: Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Tools: Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git), issue tracking systems (e.g., JIRA), and build tools (e.g., Maven). Education: Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; Masters degree is a plus. Preferred Skills: Frameworks: Experience with additional Java frameworks (e.g., Struts, JSF) is a plus. Cloud Platforms: Knowledge of cloud platforms and services (e.g., AWS, Azure) is advantageous.
