From: ayush, Scalable Systems [email protected] Reply to: [email protected] Microsoft SQL Server DBAPosition Summary The Microsoft SQL Server DBA will be responsible for the administration, maintenance, and optimization of SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, and MongoDB databases within a multi-site enterprise environment. This role will require a strong understanding of database architecture, performance tuning, and troubleshooting techniques. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of delivering high-quality database support and solutions.Key Responsibilities Own, track, and resolve database-related issues for SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, and MongoDB instances. Analyze and set up database infrastructure based on project requirements. Review service reports daily to identify and resolve issues within established SLAs. Respond to database alerts and escalations promptly. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop strategic solutions for complex problems. Perform database changes on production systems, ensuring minimal disruption. Proactively escalate issues that cannot be resolved within established timeframes.Required Qualifications 5+ years of experience in database administration for SQL Server (2008R2/2012/2014/2016/2017) in a multi-site enterprise environment. 5+ years of hands-on experience in PostgreSQL and MySQL database administration/engineering. Knowledge of MongoDB, SQL on Hadoop, SYBASE, and Oracle is a plus. Experience with on-premise, Azure IaaS, and PaaS instances. Strong experience in analyzing and migrating infrastructure (including applications and database instances) from on-premise to Azure cloud infrastructure. Experience in analyzing infrastructure to set up environments as per defined project scope. Strong experience in troubleshooting and resolving SQL Server instances and related technologies integrations and database problems. Expertise in analyzing application and database connectivity issues, including drivers and protocols used. Experience configuring and managing SQL Server clusters, Availability Groups, and Always On. Proven track record in performance tuning and optimization (PTO) of SQL Server databases using native monitoring and troubleshooting tools. Experience with backups, restores, and recovery models for SQL Server. Experience with SQL Server Replication. Strong understanding of security models (in-transit, data-at-rest, on-fly encryptions) based on data classifications. Experience with high availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) options for SQL Server, including AlwaysOn Availability groups, SRM cluster, etc. Experience with SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) and SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS). Experience in implementing operational automation using scripts. Knowledge of index usage, missing indexes, index management, and different types of fragmentations.
