Job Title: Contract Project Manager - IT Location: Richmond, VA Type: Contract Work: Onsite 2-3 days per week Experience: 15 Years Need Locals to VA Job Overview: IT Division needs a Contract Project Manager to handle complex IT projects. You'll manage multiple teams and ensure timely delivery of projects. Key Responsibilities: Investment Planning: Strong financial acumen with experience in creating and managing project and procurement budgets and financial forecasts. Ability to define and manage cash flow strategies and perform effective capital expenditure planning. Proven track record (10+ years) in assessing risks related to projects, vendors, and products, and developing contingency strategies. Capability to assess and manage debt and financing strategies. Extensive experience (10+ years) in tracking and ensuring adherence to budgets. Project Management and Documentation: Develop and manage Microsoft Project Plans and schedules. Communicate project timelines and expectations to technical and business staff. Maintain project budget, plans, tasks, schedules, risks, and status. Prepare and oversee project documents for formal handoff to stakeholders. Procurement Management: Analyze and translate VDOT business requirements into system specifications for procurement. Resolve technical aspects of contract and procurement issues. Manage multiple large-scale procurement projects and ensure alignment with project timelines. Provide guidance on compliance with procurement processes and standards. Communication and Stakeholder Management: Develop and execute project communication plans. Ensure that all stakeholders, including team members and vendors, are kept informed of project status and updates. Qualifications Required: PMP certification from PMI or VITA is mandatory. 15+ years managing large IT procurement projects. Strong skills in Agile and Waterfall project management. Proficiency in Microsoft Project and Office Suite. Bachelors degree in a related field. Agile Scrum Master certification. Experience with VITAs Commonwealth Technology Portfolio (CTP) system. Familiarity with Commonwealth IT procurement processes. Excellent communication and negotiation skills. Ability to manage and assess project risks. Fingerprint-based background check required.
