Job Description: Expert in Windows Server administration with a primary responsibility to ensure the availability and functionality of products for application teams and end-users. The role involves evaluating, preparing, and recommending technical solutions, as well as troubleshooting complex problems across various applications. The position requires significant expertise in the products being supported and the operating environments (e.g., Windows, Linux) on which the products are implemented. Required Skills: MS Windows Server experience in a large organization setting: 7 years Microsoft IIS configuration and support: 7 years HTTP Server/Apache support: 7 years Preferred Skills: Knowledge of Red Hat Enterprise Linux: 5 years Knowledge of Active Directory: 5 years Knowledge of TCP/IP networking: 5 years PowerShell: 5 years Windows Troubleshooting: 5 years VMware experience: 5 years Key Responsibilities: Function as the Technical SME on an enterprise-wide system. Implement products/services with significant Commonwealth and federal oversight. Provide direct technical expertise to Executive applications involving national security. Deliver support and design for industry-specific applications requiring integration with statewide systems or applications. Interact with executive-level business users or technical experts. Demonstrate expertise in teaching/conveying technical and functional courses/concepts. Develop work programs to effectively schedule tasks and assignments. Provide accurate estimates for design and programming efforts for system changes and enhancements. Ensure the technical architecture supports all changes required by product enhancements. Monitor server hardware updates/upgrades, test, and install updates/upgrades (SCCM/SCOM). Provide superior interpersonal and customer service skills, including effective problem-solving capabilities. Participate in product design reviews to verify design meets quality standards and functional/technical requirements. Perform impact analyses on production fixes and enhancements to establish priorities. Provide basic product support, including accurate and complete answers to detailed product questions. Document all work for future reference and follow quality standards. Communicate accurate and useful status updates and work effectively in a team environment.
