| From: Saurabh Kesarvani, TEK Inspirations LLC [email protected] Reply to: [email protected] Application Architect for AWS to Azure Migration need local to PA only Location: REMOTE Harrisburg, PA (Telework with occasional mandatory on-site meetings) Job Description: The Application Architect will play a critical role in PennDOTs transition of a Ruby on Rails application from Amazon Web Services (AWS) to a .NET environment on Azure. This position requires extensive experience in application architecture, specifically in migrating applications between cloud platforms. The selected candidate will collaborate with development teams, program delivery areas, and business partners to conduct system and data analysis, design migration strategies, and oversee the successful delivery of the application to the Azure platform. Key Responsibilities: Application Architecture & Migration: Design and oversee the migration of the application from AWS to a .NET/Azure environment. Develop and implement data migration plans. Design database schemas, integrations, and service endpoints to support application development. Analyze and write code using .NET C#, JavaScript, SQL, and other full-stack technologies. Documentation & Communication: Create detailed project documentation, including plans, design specifications, roadmaps, models, and technical interfaces. Communicate constraints, including risks, time, resources, and scope, to BSM management. Mentor applications developers in design, development, assembly, testing, and deployment of software. Collaboration & Leadership: Collaborate with technical teams to define and support the delivery of application services. Provide estimates in resources and time to support project planning and product timelines. Manage and direct application team tasks to complete project deliverables. Conduct code reviews and mentor team members on best practices. Advise and participate in selection criteria development and candidate interviews for proposed team buildouts. Technical Expertise: Deliver web services and application solutions via standard server instances and microservices architecture hosted on Azure. Design and implement configurations and analytical logging standards to support operational reporting needs. Support enterprise product deployment and validation activities. Ensure compliance with digital accessibility regulations by incorporating accessibility features into digital content and resources. Skills and Experience: Required (10+ years): Experience with object-oriented development. Experience with .NET applications development. Experience with relational database development. Strong oral and written communication skills. Required (7+ years): Experience in web service design & development (SOAP/XML and REST/JSON) for enterprise. Experience in JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, and front-end JavaScript technologies such as Angular, React, etc. Experience developing secured web services and web services with attachments. Experience with unit test development, testing, and implementation in SDLC. Required (5+ years): Experience in deploying applications to Azure cloud. Experience with various authentication protocols. Experience architecting, developing, & designing web applications to meet business requirements. Experience in DevOps products, specifically Azure DevOps. Experience mentoring and leading technical teams. Qualifications: Required: Knowledge of digital accessibility and disability inclusion. Knowledge of regulations related to digital accessibility (e.g., Section 508, ADA). Knowledge of WCAG 2.1 AA requirements. Experience designing for platform technologies (e.g., HTML, CSS, JavaScript, iOS, Android). Experience applying WAI-ARIA authoring guidelines and best practices. Experience optimizing for the accessibility features of the platform (HTML, iOS, Android). Experience developing digital products that comply with accessibility standards. Preferred: Knowledge or experience with AWS.
