Job Title: Ab Initio Developer Location: Remote (Chicago, IL) Job Description: We are seeking a skilled Ab Initio Developer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in designing, developing, and implementing ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes using Ab Initio. This role requires a deep understanding of data warehousing concepts, data modeling, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities: Design, develop, and implement ETL solutions using Ab Initio to support business requirements. Work closely with data architects and business analysts to understand data requirements and translate them into ETL processes. Develop and optimize complex Ab Initio graphs for data extraction, transformation, and loading. Perform data analysis, data cleansing, and ensure data integrity throughout the ETL process. Collaborate with other developers, QA teams, and stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery. Troubleshoot and resolve any issues related to Ab Initio processes and ensure optimal performance. Maintain and enhance existing Ab Initio applications, providing support and implementing improvements as needed. Participate in code reviews, and provide constructive feedback to peers. Document technical specifications, process flows, and other project-related materials. Stay updated on the latest Ab Initio features, tools, and best practices, and apply them to ongoing projects. Required Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. 5+ years of experience as an Ab Initio Developer, with a strong focus on ETL processes. Proficiency in Ab Initio components such as GDE, Co>Operating System, Conduct>It, and Express>It. Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts, data modeling, and database design. Strong SQL skills and experience with relational databases (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, DB2). Experience in performance tuning of ETL processes and SQL queries. Familiarity with UNIX/Linux environments and scripting languages. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Big Data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark). Knowledge of other ETL tools (e.g., Informatica, DataStage). Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies. Certification in Ab Initio or related technologies.
