Job Title: Site Builder / Datacenter Technician

Northeastern US (local candidates preferred 

- MD, PA, NJ, NY and VA)

For the per-diem, that would be $150 a day for food & hotels, while gas/mileage for travel (in the Northeast region) will be reimbursed too by Ribbon. Also there are no visa restrictions and this will be a 12-36 month project. Six openings currently and candidates need to be okay with the night shift as well.

Job Description:

The Central Office Cable Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of telecommunications cable infrastructure within central office facilities. This role involves pulling, splicing, terminating, and testing various cable types to connect switching equipment, transmission systems, and critical infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:
Plan cable runs and pathways based on engineering diagrams and site specifications.
Pull cables through raceways, racks, and conduits/vaults.
Secure and manage cable bundles and wire cross-connects.

Splice fiber optic, copper, and coaxial cables using approved methods.
Terminate cable ends with connectors and connect to equipment ports/panels.
Test cable runs for continuity, signal loss, and interference issues.
Troubleshoot and resolve cable faults, damage, or performance problems.
Label and document all cable installations, splices, and terminations.
Maintain a clean and organized cable environment within the central office.

Requirements:
Experience in a central office environment is required - experience in a class 5 switching environment/room (dealing with dms, wsd etc)
Ability to work during maintenance windows (10 PM to 6 AM).
Familiarity with live equipment and wiring harnesses.
Capability to run cables to multiple floors, up to 75 feet, using cable racks.
Proficiency in wire wrapping and handling older equipment frames.
Strong organizational skills to ensure cables do not cross.
Willingness to travel within the Northeast region as required.
Availability for night shifts, including Sunday and Monday nights.
