Database Administrator/Developer position

Location: Remote

Visa:USC or h4 EAD GC only above 1985 DOB

Rate: $45/hr C2C.

Years of experience: At least 8-10 Yrs. of experience in Database Development/Administration with MS SQL Server (2016 and above) and in Azure. 

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

The position is accountable for performing design and development of solutions that meet specifications as assigned using the Microsoft SQL platform which will include reports, vendor extracts, EDI interfaces, data warehousing tasks and other data related efforts. 

Monitor job and transfer queues to ensure they are functioning as expected. 

Provide business users with the data required for metrics and analysis. 

Develop and maintain SSIS/SSRS packages to meet business needs. 

Create and maintain documentation for all projects. 

Responsible for engineering, deploying, and administering SQL servers in non-production environments. 

Provide support to Prod DBAs with SQL solution promotions to STG/PROD environments. 

Provide support to Prod DBA and Prod App Support teams in troubleshooting and resolving production issues that arise. 

Become familiar with software applications and be responsible for deploying and supporting in Dev and Test environments. 

Conducts software rollouts that are complex and critical in nature in Dev and Test environments. 

Participate in capacity planning and performance modeling and monitoring for SQL servers. 

Proactively remain current on technology and trends affecting the business and provide knowledge transfer and feedback as appropriate. 

Proactively pursues increased knowledge (business and technical) and responsibility. 

Able to identify tasks to provide work effort estimates. 

Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with development and operation teams. 

Ability to mentor and guide others on SQL or other database-related functions. 

Be goal and result-orientated. 

Able to research and recommend the best solution. 

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:  

Education Bachelors degree required 

Experience - At least 8-10 years of experience in Database Development/Administration with MS SQL Server (2016 and above) 

Experience in Azure is a must, at least 8-10 years of experience. 

Sound theoretical and practical deep knowledge of: 

Database principles and methodologies 

Performance Tuning and Optimization 

Physical Data Modeling 

ETL / ELT 

Security (Both AD and SQL Server) 

Backup Recovery, Disaster Recovery 

Capacity Planning 

SQL Standards and Best Practices 

Understanding of Active Directory. 

Good knowledge and understanding of TCP/IP networking. 

Experience monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimizing performance-related issues including MS SQL Server-related CPU, memory, I/O, blocking locks and deadlocks, disk utilization, and other resource contention. 

Strong knowledge of and experience with backups, restores, recovery models, and disaster recovery scenarios. 

Advanced knowledge of Server Technologies 

Windows 2012-2022 

SQL Server 2016+ 

Active Directory 

Experience in the Healthcare industry 

Advanced ability to troubleshoot and solve problems and to communicate and support clients. 

Microsoft Database Certification is preferred though not required 

Must have good communication skills
