Position: Commercial Insurance Business Analyst Location: Hartford, CT (Onsite) Duration: Long term Contract Job Description: Role name: Domain Specialist Role Description: The primary responsibility from this role is to elicit, analyze, document ,validate and communicate requirements for successful implementation of customers transformation initiatives. A profound understanding of the commercial lines policy administration, claims, bureau rating, and pricing methods etc. is vital for effective communication with stakeholders. Competencies: Commercial Insurance, Data Architecture and Modeling Experience (Years): 10 & Above Essential Skills: Possesses strong functional knowledge and applies necessary elicitation techniques to draw out data and analytics business requirements completely and accurately from stakeholders. Perform Data profiling and exploratory analysis using standard tools to understand data patterns ,relationships and anomalies in the data . Recommend requirement solution options and define business transformation rules to integrate, translate data in accordance with business usage requirements. Perform Data Reconciliation and root cause analysis to ensure integrity and accuracy of data at the individual levels (e.g. policy, line of business, state, segment) and aggregate level . Prepare Requirement Traceability Matrix and Data mapping documents in a defined template to track functional requirements . Create process maps and other visuals to increase understanding of Business Processes and System interaction . Implement robust data controls and balance checks to assess the quality of data in different stages of ETL /ELT. Assist data architects in developing data dictionaries, flow diagrams, data modeling, use cases to design solutions aligned with business strategy. Create data visualization using tools like Excel ,Tableau to represent data insights and communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders to guide future decisions. Work with data stewards to ensure each data attribute has clear and unambiguous definition. Desirable Skills: 10+ years of experience in Property and casualty (P&C) insurance domain with Prior Business Analyst experience . Comprehensive understanding of Scaled Agile Framework principles and Practices . Strong understanding of data warehousing and modelling concepts . Strong SQL skills with experience in writing complex SQL queries to extract and profile from data from multiple data sources . Hands on experience with Snowflake data platform. Hands on experience with data modelling tools( i.e. Erwin ). Knowledge on AWS cloud platform Proficient in Excel ,with experience in creating Pivot tables and data visualization . Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with written and verbal communication skills to convey technical results to the business and influence decisions. Ability to collaborate with business partners and ETL teams to derive high quality data solutions. Experience with ETL tools and Processes .
