Test Automation Specialist Visa: CITIZEN,GREEN CARD Location: Remote but must live within 1 hour of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. Will be Schedule: The initial contract is full time, 40 hours per week; Work hours are 8:00 AM 5:00 PM, Monday Friday excluding state holidays and other office closings; Lunch is 12:00 PM 1:00 PM Overview: The Test Automation Specialist will be responsible for analyzing performance requirements, developing automated tests, and supporting developers in executing automated test plans. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, the ability to work independently, and expertise in performance testing tools. This position involves automating tests, primarily for performance, and requires working with systems within PennDOT.Required Skills and Experience: 4 Years of experience with industrial-grade testing tools from recognized vendors such as IBM Rational Performance Tester, Selenium, or Apache JMeter. 2 Years of experience with basic programming knowledge in a common language, with the ability to customize test scripts and adjust execution based on requirements. 2 Years of experience working with an Integrated Development Environment (IDE), such as Eclipse or Microsoft Visual Studio. Experience working with Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office 365. Strong ability to communicate effectively and work independently. Excellent customer service skills. Round 1 interview is virtual (via Teams), Round 2 is in person at The Keystone Building. Candidates must be within an hour's distance of central PA (Keystone Building). Candidates must provide a completed PATCH check and work authorization (vendor expense) before engagement. On-site work is on a secured floor; candidates must bring a $20 check or money order on their first day to pay for a badge. Responsibilities: Analyze performance requirements from business areas and develop automated tests to meet those requirements. Collaborate with the project team to gather necessary input and data for measuring performance, and explain good design principles. Support developers in building automated test scripts and plans, ensuring proper execution. Formalize testing requirements and create comprehensive test plans. Program, configure, automate, and execute performance tests. Record, create, edit, and execute both quality and performance tests for PennDOT systems. Report test results, both verbally and in writing, to development teams, helping to isolate defects and vulnerabilities. Perform analysis, triage, and remediation as needed to ensure proper execution and resolve connectivity or run-time issues. Perform automated testing of other types (functional and regression testing) when required, though less than 10% of total testing. Research and Maintenance: Research testing tools in the marketplace, evaluating features and pricing that offer value to PennDOT. Review vendor documentation and present customized guidelines for proper tool implementation within PennDOT. Maintain and update versions of existing tools, rolling out new versions to the user community as needed. Provide customer support by responding to inquiries via phone, email, chat, and other communication channels in a timely manner. Troubleshoot technical issues and provide step-by-step instructions or guidance to resolve customer concerns. Document and track customer interactions and issue resolutions using CRM tools like Remedy. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve customer issues and improve support processes. Contribute to the development of self-service resources, knowledge base articles, and other support materials. Continuously seek ways to improve the customer support experience and provide feedback to team leads and management. This role requires an individual with a strong focus on performance testing, the ability to work autonomously, and a commitment to improving testing processes and customer interactions.
