Location: 9275 Sky Park Ct. #250 San Diego, CA 92123 (Hybrid-3 days Onsite a
week)

Someone
who can be a point of escalation for a networking issue and be able to
thoroughly explain to less senior team members what the issue was. They need to
understand encryption from a troubleshooting perspective and figure out how to
solve remote connectivity problems. This role has a customer facing component
so someone who came up in Technical Support or has Customer Support experience
would do really well with the customer facing aspect.

JOB PURPOSE:

As a Network Engineer, you will contribute in provide 2nd/3rd layer
support for connectivity team (especially KIC and GIC) in order to
maintain a desired level of service for our customers.

JOB DUTIES: Responsibilities of the incumbents are to troubleshoot
connectivity problems and be able to identify root cause and fix it
proactively. Collaborate with connectivity team to be reactive on their request
and consulting constantly the monitoring tool to be proactive on problem
identification.

Competent to troubleshoot connectivity issue without close
supervision.

Competent to configure, test different type of secure
tunnels that meet defined requirements.

Able to analyze a dump of ethernet traffic, identifying
eventual anomalies.

Works directly on complex technical problem identification
and resolution.

Works independently on complex systems or infrastructure
components that may be used by one or more applications or systems.

Create and analyze network schema that document the
complexity of delivered services.

Manage Linux platform used for remote connection

Collaborate with a team of network engineers to optimize
and iterate on connectivity solutions.

Employee is also responsible for performing other job
duties as assigned by Solar Digital

management from time to time.

Basic qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree or relevant experience in Network
engineering.

Proven record of strong technical understanding.

Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot production
connectivity issues.

5 year or more of relevant industry experience.

5 year or more of experience with designing, delivering and
maintaining/troubleshoot network

infrastructure.

5 year or more of Network engineering experience:

Good knowledge of layer 2 and layer 3 (switching and routing)

Good knowledge network tunneling: IPSec, Wireguard, GRE

Good knowledge of Linux operating system

Good knowledge of Iptables

Top candidates will also have:

Interest in working collaboratively with engineering
leadership, product owners, Network

engineering and other stakeholders.

Ability to work independently with small degree of
supervision.

Good knowledge of Cisco and Juniper devices for switching
and routing

Knowledge of command line tool for troubleshooting:

wireshark

o

iperf

Good knowledge of Firewall/Appliance:

o

VyOS

o

PaloAlto

o

Cisco

Scope: The team operates on the execution side, without
a specific scope.

Team Composition under Roman:

San Diego (SD): 12 team members

Mexico: Additional team members, growing team

Switzerland Office: Project Manager and Field/Compliance personnel

Responsibilities:

Program Managers: Oversee projects and operations.

Legal Department: Handles international legal needs.

Logistics: Manages shipping and importing hardware.

Cybersecurity: Ensures connectivity security.

Field Personnel: Provides hands-on support.

His Position: Cybersecurity Specialist

Responsibilities: Supports connectivity engineers in SD and
Mexico.

Challenges: Overburdened with responsibilities; needs to
focus on core tasks.

Skills: Knowledgeable, experienced network architect,
well-spoken with sales experience, and comfortable presenting to experts.

Desired Candidates for this Network/Systems Engineer:

Role Focus: Troubleshooting, technical expertise,
encryption, and networking.

Skills Needed: Strong technical background, comfort with highly
encrypted data, authentication, familiar with tunnels, ability to work
with a diverse team.

Roman is also open to seeing someone more junior who
is eager, motivated, and looking to grow in their career long
term. 

Preferred Background: Former military
experience could be beneficial; a junior, driven, and eager individual
could be a good fit.

Personality: Not required to be an extrovert, but should be
technically strong and comfortable in a troubleshooting role. Not a
customer facing role.
