Can be in AWS or Azure because they are presently in AWS and moving to Azure in a year. Local to Alpharetta or Atlanta, GA Linux environment with streaming data using Kafka and ELK (ElasticSearch). INTERVIEW PROCESS Interview off the resume 2 nd round coding test Third round is an interview with the manager. Note;-Financial experience is a good plus, but not required. (they are looking for people from tech firms if its not financial) MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE WORKING WITH LAREGE AMOUNTS OF DATA Terabytes and Peta bytes. Prefer certifications for Azure first. AWS second THREE TOP SKILLS THEY ARE LOOKING FOR Python experience Spark and scripting and Databases Platform for streaming data is Kafka and ELK Elastic Search For data Lake in the cloud that is database is on prem, aws and glue and stagemaker will help And Glue / Glu to help move data to the destination database which is snowflake And experience with Databases Snowflake is a must. Know how to extract data from an OLTP system. Must have experience moving large amount of data , must have data frame and spark to do this and python. Must have Devops and Jenkins process They do devops and moving the data, this is the most of this role 4-5 years experience - (they use the Jira Ticketing system, can they write the requirement and ask for help if needed. The definition of Done on the ticket, and demo it) they dont require system design experience, initially, but will learn it. System design on the job. The Data System Engineer will be responsible for tasks such as data engineering, data modeling, ETL processes, data warehousing, and data analytics & science.
