Job Description:

"DB2 DBA (Database Administrator) experience typically involves managing and maintaining IBM's DB2 database, which is used for both transactional and analytical workloads. A DB2 DBA's responsibilities and required skills can be broadly categorized as follows:

Key Responsibilities:

Installation and Configuration:

24/7 operational support.

Installing and setting up DB2 database software on different platforms (e.g., Windows, UNIX, Linux).

Configuring the database environment, including storage, memory, and security settings.

Database Design and Architecture:

Designing databases and schemas to meet business requirements.

Creating and managing tablespaces, tables, indexes, views, and constraints.

Planning database architecture for performance, scalability, and redundancy.

Performance Tuning:

Monitoring and optimizing the performance of the DB2 databases, including tuning queries and indexing strategies.

Analyzing execution plans and making adjustments to ensure the best performance.

Backup and Recovery:

Establishing backup and recovery strategies, including automated and manual backups.

Performing database recovery in case of data corruption or failure using tools like DB2 HADR (High Availability Disaster Recovery).

Security Management:

Managing user roles, privileges, and security policies.

Ensuring compliance with data security standards like encryption, access control, and auditing.

Database Maintenance:
