Location: Madison, WI Client: University of Wisconsin Madison Interview Process : Face to Face Job Details Our client the University of Wisconsin Madison is looking for a developer to assist with analysis and building of APIs in support of external applications to their Workday environment, which is being implemented to replace PeopleSoft. They need to build and manage a large collection of APIs to interface between these two large systems. They are looking for a candidate that can work independently in a small team setting to perform analysis, coding, and testing. The API team supports the current Workday implementation by creating APIs for various external applications that require HR and Financial data. Wisconsin residency is required. Must be Wisconsin resident or willing to relocate at the candidate's expense. Key Responsibilities: Work closely and collaboratively with the rest of the development team in a Scrum Agile work structure Actively participate in daily standups, refinement sessions, sprint reviews, and retrospectives Coordinate with Functional Business analysts and testing leads to troubleshoot and discuss problem resolution. Code and design APIs for future-state ancillary system use. Required Qualifications: 3 5 years of Python 3 years AWS experience Experience with database design, setup, and maintenance. Minimum 2 years of Workday API building experience. Workday implementation experience Preferred Qualifications: Experience with frameworks Terraform Gitlab CI/CD Apigee API management AWS certifications related to data engineering or databases are a plus Experience working in Higher Ed institutions Experience using Agile/Scrum practices Experience with AWS services such as S3, Lambda, ECS, and Athena. Bachelor s degree in Computer Science / Computer Information Systems or related field or extensive applicable experience. Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, agile environment and effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to fellow developers, sharing insights into best practices, tips, and techniques for optimizing AWS data solutions.
