Job Description - Sr. Network Engineer Location: 100% onsite in Virginia Beach, VA 23464 Contract: 12-month contract (will extend every 12 months for 10 years) Interview Process: eplus technical interview.. then video interview with VDOT & in person interview with VDOT. There will be an initial 30-45 minute teams interview with the hiring managers. This is going to be a hard interview. If they cant speak to their resume, they are out. In the beginning, hours will be M-F 8am 4pm until they are ramped up and then they can begin anytime from 6am-10am of their choosing. Experience: 8+ years Certs / Degree: Bachelors degree Top Must Haves: For example during the interview, they will tell them that this is the network protocols and these are the parameters youll be working with. They want this person to be like ok why did we choose these How will this affect the Network and why They want this person to know enough about networking that they can deep dive in and understand what they call North South East and West. Meaning full scope Networking capabilities and understanding. They want someone whos installed a rack a thousand times. There may be times when this person needs to be able to help out and doesnt mind doing switch in rack when needed which isnt often but if it pops up, be able to help. They need to be able to understand the IP Scheme for a cabinet in the field. They need to be able to ask questions to the field and understand. They are primarily a Cisco Shop.
