Role: Data Analyst Location: Irvine, CA(Fully Onsite) Duration: Short Term contract Interview Type: Video plus In-person Job Description: Data Analyst is responsible for creating and managing the accuracy, consistency, and quality of automotive data, transformed into information, and utilized across the Cox Automotive enterprise. This position supports the generation and maintenance of policies and procedures utilized to ensure the data is translated and provided as needed to downstream products. Specific job responsibilities include analyzing, decoding, and mapping automotive data to create a rich catalog in support of individual Cox Automotive business unit catalog needs and the overall common Cox vehicle catalog. In addition to creating and managing automotive reference data, this role supports other general data research and maintenance duties including proofreading and validation of data files. This position monitors department processes and proactively identifies efficiency and improvement areas. The Sr. Automotive Data Analyst serves as a coach, mentor, and subject matter expert for Auto Data Analyst 1 & 2 positions and will help guide the team in the adoption of new tools and products. Roles & responsibilities Analyze and translate written information and concepts into a proprietary format. Collect, analyze, interpret, reconcile, and validate data from multiple sources and formats to discern information relevancy and consistency. Structure relevant data into a consistent, concise, informative, thorough, and uniform format. Execute data generation and management with extreme accuracy and timeliness. Manage reference tables that link incoming data sources and consumer information. Identify and create policies and procedures associated with data creation. Identify, research, and resolve conflicting and inconsistent information. Execute strict publishing schedules. Ability to train and/or Mentor Auto Data Analyst 1 & 2. Ability to quickly learn and utilize tools for data management across individual business units and common catalogs. Identify requirements associated with data management and tool development. Continued education and increased knowledge of the automotive industry and vehicle data, including new model releases, enhancements, and trends. Manage interactions between consumer and dealer support groups. Perform other related duties as assigned. In-depth knowledge and experience with automotive information for major OEMs over the last 10 years and continued Interested in obtaining a thorough understanding of automotive terminology, products, and the industry. Must be a self-starter with the drive and commitment to deliver world class information. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to author routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written oral, diagram, or schedule form. Other duties as needed or required. Requires physical ability and mental acuity to execute the positions duties successfully within required time limits to meet business requirements. Automotive industry experience a plus such as: o Managing/processing manufacturing automotive data o Inventory management at a dealership, fleet facility or similar o Management of an automotive rental agency o Wholesaling/purchasing (licensed). Technology experience, working knowledge of the internet, Windows applications, general database experience a plus.
