| From: ayush, Scalable Systems [email protected] Reply to: [email protected] Job Description: Redis & GemFire Engineer Location: Tampa, FL Position Summary: As a Redis & GemFire Engineer, you will be instrumental in designing, implementing, and supporting in-memory caching and search solutions. Leveraging your expertise in VMware GemFire and Redis Enterprise, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing the performance and scalability of our IT systems. Key Responsibilities: Installation and Configuration: Install and configure GemFire, Redis Enterprise, and Redis Open Source on both AWS and on-premises environments, primarily on Linux. Solution Design: Collaborate with development teams to architect effective caching and search solutions using GemFire and Redis. Application Support: Assist developers in troubleshooting application issues related to GemFire and Redis usage. Platform Management: Oversee the lifecycle of GemFire and Redis platforms, including upgrades, patching, and adherence to EOL/EOGS timelines. Performance Optimization: Analyze Java performance and capacity metrics to identify bottlenecks and recommend improvements. Tool Development: Create and maintain Java-based utilities and plugins, as well as administrative shell scripts. On-Call Support: Provide on-call support for GemFire and Redis clusters during all stages of the development and production lifecycle. Disaster Recovery: Assist in weekend implementations and disaster recovery tests. Documentation: Develop comprehensive system documentation and diagrams. Knowledge Transfer: Mentor and train less experienced engineers and frontline support personnel. Required Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronic Engineering, or a related field. Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role or related position. Proven experience with installation and configuration of VMware GemFire, Redis Enterprise/Open Source (from RedisLabs, Inc.) on Linux in AWS and on-premises environments. Strong proficiency in using GemFire and Redis. Expertise in Java programming and shell scripting. Preferred Qualifications: Experience working in a cloud environment (AWS, GCP, Azure). Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools. Familiarity with performance tuning techniques. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
