You will be responsible for the end-to-end design, development, and deployment of the Confluent Kafka ecosystem, ensuring seamless integration with source/target systems and enterprise middleware. This is a hands-on technical role demanding a deep understanding of Kafka architecture, streaming platforms, and distributed systems. Key Responsibilities: Architect and design a ground-up Confluent Kafka platform for the enterprise. Design, build, and configure Kafka topics, partitions, and schemas to optimize performance and data integrity. Develop and implement Kafka producers, consumers, and connectors using Java and Spring Boot. Design and develop Kafka Streams applications for real-time data processing and transformation. Leverage KSQL for stream processing and building real-time applications. Develop and deploy custom Kafka connectors using the Kafka Connect framework. Monitor and troubleshoot the Kafka infrastructure and related components. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project delivery. Essential Skills: 6+ years of experience in Enterprise Middleware, Microservices, and API design/implementation. 5+ years of experience architecting, designing, implementing, and operating a streaming platform based on Confluent Kafka. 5+ years of experience in Confluent platform or Confluent Cloud. 5+ years of Java and Spring Boot experience. Strong fundamentals in distributed systems design and operations, microservice architecture, and integration patterns. Deep understanding of messaging paradigms (pub/sub, queuing), delivery models, quality-of-service, and fault-tolerance architectures. Proven track record with Kafka technology, with hands-on production experience and a deep understanding of Kafka architecture and internals. Practical experience scaling Kafka, KStreams, and Connector infrastructures. Experience with Kafka Streams/KSQL architecture and clustering. Hands-on experience building producer and consumer applications using the Kafka API and expertise in implementing KStreams components. Experience developing KSQL queries and understanding best practices for using KSQL vs. KStreams. Strong knowledge of Kafka Connect framework and experience using various connector types (HTTP REST proxy, JMS, File, SFTP, JDBC). Hands-on experience designing, writing, and operationalizing new Kafka Connectors. Familiarity with data formats (XML, JSON, Avro, CSV) and serialization/deserialization options. Experience monitoring Kafka infrastructure and related components. Familiarity with Confluent Control Center. Firm understanding of SDLC. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Excellent analytical and troubleshooting abilities. Desirable Skills: 10+ years of experience in Enterprise Middleware, Microservices, and API design/implementation. Prior experience in the banking/financial services industry and understanding of the banking data landscape.
