(Note: If you are not interested please share it to your friends/Colleagues, Thanks in advance) Role: Python Engineer Job type: Longterm Contract Location : San Diego,CA Role Overview: The Engineer will be responsible for assessing platform-level performance across cellular technologies, focusing on EMI and RF aspects, primarily antenna sensitivity and coexistence losses. The role involves practical testing and validation of RF components, system-level RF parameters, and collaboration with cross-functional teams. The Engineer will handle bench-level testing, debug at the module, reference board, or system level, and manage radiated test setups and chamber calibration. Location: Domestic travel required (between Cupertino and San Diego) Key Responsibilities: Platform-Level Performance Assessment: Evaluate platform performance across cellular technologies (3G, 4G, 5G) with a focus on EMI, RF, antenna sensitivity, and coexistence losses. Implement in-house test systems and execute validation and characterization test plans. Testing & Validation: Perform hands-on measurement and debugging of RF components at module, reference board, and system levels. Use RF lab equipment such as Vector Network Analyzers (VNA), Spectrum Analyzers, Signal/RF Generators, and Oscilloscopes for testing. Failure Analysis: Conduct failure analysis to understand low margin or failing behaviors using experimental software/firmware and mock-up hardware. Track validation status, analyze results, and communicate issues and insights from data. Antenna & Radiated Testing: Understand and assess antenna characteristics' impact on radiated testing. Familiarity with radiated test setups and chamber calibration. Collaboration: Work with test equipment vendors, technology suppliers, and cross-functional teams to optimize RF parametric performance. Coordinate with both onshore and offshore teams as necessary. Documentation & Reporting: Document testing procedures, results, and provide comprehensive reports to stakeholders. Communicate technical findings clearly and effectively. Travel & Coordination: Travel between Cupertino and San Diego as required for project coordination and testing activities. Key Qualifications: Education & Experience: Education: Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field. Experience: 10+ years of relevant experience in RF testing and validation, with hands-on experience in cellular wireless technologies (3G, 4G, 5G). Technical Skills: Cellular Wireless Technology: Practical knowledge of at least one cellular wireless technology including 3G, 4G, or 5G. Cellular Standards: Understanding of cellular industry standards (3GPP, 3GPP2) and carrier specifications. RF Parameters: Deep understanding of system-level RF parameters and their sources. Testing Equipment: Experience with RF lab equipment such as VNA, Spectrum Analyzers, Signal/RF Generators, and Oscilloscopes. Antenna Testing: Knowledge of antenna characteristics and their impact on radiated testing. Skills: Bench-Level Testing: Hands-on experience with bench-level wireless testing and debugging. Radiated Test Setups: Familiarity with radiated test setups and chamber calibration. Travel: Ability to travel domestically as needed. Soft Skills: Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills. Problem-Solving: Excellent problem-solving abilities for analyzing and resolving testing issues. Desirable Skills: RF Component Experience: Experience with Low Noise Amplifiers (LNAs), Power Amplifiers (PAs), and Front-End Modules (FEMs) in cellular 4G and 5G modules. Software Skills: Experience with Python or other programming languages used for test automation and data analysis. IoT for Telecom: Familiarity with IoT applications and their integration with cellular technologies.
