| IT Software Engineer (Ruby on Rails) Location: Remote USC/GC/GCEAD Duration: 12+ Months Dept overview: Dealer to customer communication app. Role: Mid to senior level. Review codes. Check codes, collaborate with QA folks and Product owner Top skills: Ruby on rails is the main skill. And more recent experience Postgres and strong Database experience AWS Unit testing experience Nic to have: side kick, messaging service (sns etc) This is not a java position Education/experience: Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering or relevant field required. - but must have 7+ years experience - 5-7 years of relevant experience required. Positions Contributions to Work Group : - We are actively looking for a talented with a strong background in the latest Java technologies and Spring Boot, coupled with hands-on experience in working with relational database systems such as Postgres. Familiarity with cloud services, particularly AWS, is highly desirable. Your expertise and innovative mindset will be integral to our ongoing success Typical task breakdown: - Daily scrum meeting - Understand assignment - Provide update on tasks assigned - Work with team lead to clarify any requirements - Work with test engineer to validate code - provide PR comments - participate in other team scrum ceremonies Interaction with team : - working daily with team lead and test engineer - Work with IST team also working on the same product Work environment : Home office; fully remote or Denver area. Technical Skills: (Required) 5+ years of Java development experience with strong knowledge of core concepts and object-oriented programming principles. Proven ability to design, develop, and maintain high-performance applications. Strong emphasis on RESTful services, particularly within Spring Boot. Extensive experience with Spring Boot and Spring Framework. Expertise in designing highly scalable asynchronous systems. Efficient processing of large datasets within the Java ecosystem. Mastery of Java concurrency and multithreading. Familiarity with testing frameworks like JUnit and build tools like Maven or Gradle. Proficiency in performance monitoring and profiling tools e.g., utilizing tools like VisualVM, YourKit, or Java Flight Recorder). Experience with version control systems, especially Git. Practical knowledge of AWS for cloud services. Ability to work collaboratively in an Agile environment with cross-functional teams.
