Citizens only & Green Card Holders Only

(9/10/2024): This is the Data Engineer requirement you have already received. I changed the title due to the confusion that the old title was giving us. Candidates overall have not been a good fit. The candidates have been largely data pipeline developers/operators, not data infrastructure engineers. This is a cloud infrastructure-heavy position. Client is not looking for folks who build data or ML processing pipeline code, ETL jobs, or do data analytics. They need candidates whose primary focus is deploying and configuring data infrastructure as laid out in our JD. Please submit candidates focused on cloud infrastructure who have significant hands-on experience in the languages and tools outlined in the description.

TITLE: Senior Cloud Infrastructure Data Engineer (This role is about cloud infrastructure engineering, not data pipeline development).

MUST HAVES (Tell us about your experience with the following):

6+ yrs platform data development exp. w/RDS (PostgreSQL), Debezium. Redis, Kafka, Flink, Databricks

Extensive exp. w/AWS data services, including RDS Aurora, ElastiCache, Managed OpenSearch, S3, MSK

Working knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, and EKS.

Proficient with Terraform and one or more programming languages such as Python, Golang, or Ruby.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

We are seeking a Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to join my clients Runtime Platform Group. In this role, you will focus on building and managing our FedRAMP-authorized cloud infrastructure for U.S. Federal Government projects.

As a Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer, youll work on a team that is developing a secure and compliant SaaS platform for federal government-led construction projects. This involves designing, deploying, and configuring cloud-native services and infrastructure in a dedicated environment that meets FedRAMP Moderate level controls. Your work will directly support my clients strategic initiatives for 2024 and 2025. Join them and contribute to a mission-critical platform with wide-reaching impact!

This position reports to the Runtime Platform Software Architect and is fully remote within the U.S. My client is looking for someone to join them immediately.

Responsibilities:

Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to design, deploy, and document cloud infrastructure resources for our SaaS platform in AWS GovCloud.

Ensure compliance with FedRAMP Moderate level controls throughout the infrastructure deployment process.

Use infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform to automate the deployment and configuration of cloud databases, data lakes, and streaming systems.

Deploy and manage technologies such as Debezium, Apache Flink, and Kafka in a secure, highly available environment.

Engineer robust and resilient cloud systems that support 24/7 operations with 99.95% availability.

Build and test disaster recovery systems to ensure infrastructure and data resiliency.

Requirements:

U.S. Person status is required (Citizen & Green Card Holder), due to the nature of accessing federal environments and protected data.

6+ years of experience with cloud infrastructure in a moderate-to-large-scale environment (>1000 hosts, petabytes of data).

Extensive hands-on experience with AWS data services including RDS Aurora, ElastiCache, Managed OpenSearch, S3, and MSK.

Proficient with cloud infrastructure tools such as Docker, Kubernetes, EKS, and Terraform.

Experience with deploying and configuring data streaming tools (e.g., Kafka, Flink) and managing highly secure environments.

Familiarity with cloud observability, logging, and monitoring tools.

Strong programming skills in one or more common languages like Python, Golang, or Ruby.

Experience working in an Agile development environment.

Resumes that do not have the entire legal name (first & last) will not be accepted.

Resumes without contact information (phone number(s), email and address (listing just city and state is fine) will not be accepted.
