| Job Title: Senior Network Engineer Location: Cleveland, Ohio Department: IT/Network Engineering Job Summary: As a Senior Network Engineer at MedImpact, you will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and maintaining our network infrastructure to ensure seamless connectivity and optimal performance across our Linux and Windows environments. You will leverage your expertise in networking protocols, server virtualization, and routing technologies to support our enterprise network, while adhering to ITIL best practices and utilizing MS SQL, MS Office, and MS Outlook. Key Responsibilities: Network Design and Implementation: Lead the design, deployment, and maintenance of network infrastructure including routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers. Ensure robust network architecture to support business operations and scalability. Routing Protocols Management: Administer and optimize routing protocols such as EIGRP, OSPF, and BGP. Troubleshoot and resolve complex routing issues to maintain network reliability and performance. Network Security: Implement and manage network security measures to safeguard sensitive data and prevent unauthorized access. Conduct regular security assessments and vulnerability scans. Virtualization Technologies: Support and enhance network infrastructure in server virtualization environments using VMware. Ensure efficient integration and performance of virtualized resources. Network Performance Monitoring: Utilize network monitoring tools to analyze and troubleshoot network performance issues. Proactively identify and address potential bottlenecks or failures. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain comprehensive network documentation, including configuration files, network diagrams, and incident reports. Prepare and present reports on network performance and improvements. Collaboration and Support: Work closely with other IT teams to support project initiatives, troubleshoot cross-functional issues, and ensure effective communication of network-related changes. ITIL Practices: Apply ITIL best practices for incident, problem, and change management to improve service delivery and operational efficiency. Required Qualifications: Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Relevant certifications are a plus. Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in network engineering, with a strong background in managing complex network infrastructures. Technical Skills: Proficiency in Linux and Windows server environments. Extensive experience with MS SQL database management. Advanced knowledge of networking and routing protocols (EIGRP, OSPF, BGP, Ethernet). Hands-on experience with VMware and server virtualization technologies. Familiarity with networking technologies and best practices in a Cisco environment. Certifications: Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) and Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) preferred. ITIL Foundation certification is an advantage. Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Working Conditions: Standard office environment with occasional on-call support and potential for extended hours based on project needs.
