Job Title: Data Architect Location: Irvine CA Employment Type: Contract Job Description: We are seeking a highly skilled Data Architect to lead the design and development of scalable data architectures. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in data engineering with Python and Spark, as well as deep experience with AWS cloud services. The Data Architect will be responsible for building, optimizing, and ensuring the robustness of our data infrastructure, enabling efficient and secure data flows across the organization. Proficiency with AWS Quicksight for business intelligence is essential. Key Responsibilities: Design and implement scalable, reliable, and high-performance data architectures. Lead the development of ETL pipelines using Python and Apache Spark for processing large-scale datasets. Architect cloud-based solutions leveraging AWS services such as EMR, Glue, S3, Redshift, and Lambda to optimize data workflows and storage. Oversee the development of dashboards and data visualizations using AWS Quicksight to deliver actionable insights to stakeholders. Collaborate with data engineers, data scientists, and business analysts to ensure high-quality data availability and integration across different teams. Ensure the security, integrity, and compliance of data throughout its lifecycle. Provide strategic direction for data architecture decisions, aligning with business goals and scalability needs. Evaluate and recommend new technologies and tools to enhance the existing data infrastructure. Required Skills & Qualifications: Proven experience in data architecture and data engineering roles. Proficiency in Python for building scalable data pipelines and automation. Expertise in Apache Spark for distributed data processing. In-depth knowledge of AWS services, including: EMR (Elastic MapReduce) Glue (ETL tool) S3 (Simple Storage Service) Redshift (Data Warehouse) Lambda (Serverless Computing) Strong experience with AWS Quicksight for creating dashboards and visualizations. Comprehensive understanding of data modeling, database design, and data warehousing concepts. Familiarity with distributed systems and modern data architecture patterns (e.g., Data Lakes, Lakehouse). Ability to ensure data governance, security, and compliance with industry standards and regulations. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with other AWS services such as Athena, Kinesis, and DynamoDB. Knowledge of DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure automation. Experience working with both structured (SQL) and unstructured (NoSQL) data systems. Strong analytical skills, problem-solving abilities, and attention to detail. Educational Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or related field. Equivalent work experience may be considered.
