Job Description -

Title: Network Architect

Location: Hybrid (Downers Grove Illinois)

Visa: GC, US Citizen Only

TECHNICAL SKILLS 

Expert
knowledge in network architecture across both datacenter and cloud
environments.

Expert
knowledge on Fortinet suite of products. Including NGFW, SD-WAN, Client
VPN, and VPN Tunnel features will be critical for this rule.

Expert
knowledge in multiple Network and Security hardware and software vendors.
Cisco (Catalyst, Nexus. ASR/ISR, ACI), F5, NSX, Palo Alto, Checkpoint is
also desirable.

Expert
Cloud Networking knowledge in Google Cloud Platform, Amazon AWS, and
Microsoft Azure.

Extensive
knowledge of Network diagnostics, protocols, and disciplines, EIGRP, BGP,
eBGP, SNMP, VPN, SSH, and MPLS technologies. 

Expert
knowledge in troubleshooting of Web Applications at the network layer

Mastery
of TCP/IP protocol communications, addressing & subnetting.

Expert
knowledge in network automation using CI/CD toolsets such as Terraform,
Ansible, Rundeck, and others.

Working
foundational technical knowledge in multiple areas including basic
networking, Windows OS, Linux OS (Redhat or Redhat based),

Working
knowledge of common infrastructure technologies must be able to understand
how the areas they are responsible for interact and depend on foundational
technologies

o

Ability to write complex F5 iRules a plus

Strong
knowledge Knowledge of CI/CD toolsets including Terraform, Jenkins,
GitHub, Ansible, Chef, and Salt.

Strong knowledge of performing
and analyzing packet captures (TCPDumps) from load balancer and
application server perspective is a plus and a huge differentiator.

Strong knowledge
with scripting tools like Bash, Powershell, Perl, Python, etc a plus

Knowledge
of Cloud platforms (outside of network functions) such as AWS, GCP, and
Azure highly beneficial

Knowledge
of container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes is a plus

Knowledge
of infrastructure, application, and synthetic monitoring products, such as
BMC, Datadog, New Relic, and Splunk

Knowledge
of datacenter technology using on-prem methods sufficient to coordinate
with other teams including facilities, OS, hardware, storage, backup, etc
required.

Proficient
in Microsoft Office products for creating presentations, diagrams, and
communicating technical details and concepts

Knowledge
of ITIL Framework

Experience
in an environment using Service Now ITSM, and ITOM is a huge plus.

EXPERIENCE 
and 
QUALIFICATIONS

10 years
of experience within a highly complex environment making
extensive use of web applications, or equivalent demonstrated proficiency

Experience
in client facing and Service Delivery roles 

Experience
in a managed services environment a plus

ITIL
certification desirable 

Industry
standard technical certifications highly desirable

College
degree or equivalent experience preferred

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES  

Provide
technical thought leadership and technical governance

Partner
with leadership, client account team, and client to identify and
capture operational risks, insights, and improvements.  

Assists
in service/process development and execution of improvement plans. 

Partners
with solution architects to review and develop client solutions

Maintain
highly effective coordination and communication with the client and
internal stake holders as needed.

Drive
process improvements and bring operational efficiencies partnering with
automation teams as appropriate

Participate
in knowledge transfer activities for new client on-boarding

Develop
and implement Network designs based on client requirements, and associated
high-level and low-level documents

Develop
expertise in our clients Private Cloud Platform

Mentor
and develop global team members in both technology and customer support

Partner
with global team on ITSM functions

o

Define process, and act as escalation for Incident and Request
management

o

Review Complex changes, create standardized change templates

o

Conduct proactive and reactive problem management including
leadership over root cause analysis and reduction of repeat incidents

Maintain
general service health for all network services

o

CMDB Inventory Accuracy

o

Operational Hygiene

o

Leverage SRE practices

o

Review and consistent enhancement of documentation

o

Optimize for service availability and uptime of customer
services

o

Manage to audit compliance requirements

Travel
as required for client workshops and internal client meetings
