Job Description - Job Title: PowerBuilder Developer (Programmer Analyst 5) Location: Lansing, MI (Hybrid) Contract Duration: 12 + month Interview Process: Initial interview via MS Teams video The State of Michigan is seeking an experienced PowerBuilder Developer (Programmer Analyst 5) to support its Department of Technology, Management, and Budget (DTMB) in maintaining and enhancing critical applications. This role will involve working with legacy PowerBuilder applications, performing complex SQL query writing, and supporting data migration efforts. The position offers a hybrid work model with both on-site work in Lansing, MI, and remote flexibility. Key Responsibilities: Develop, maintain, and troubleshoot legacy applications using PowerBuilder (version 7 or higher). Write and optimize complex SQL queries to pull and manipulate data from Sybase and MS SQL Server databases. Perform unit testing, documenting test results to ensure the integrity of changes and updates. Collaborate with stakeholders, including business analysts, to ensure test scenarios align with requirements. Utilize source control technologies like TFS, Azure DevOps, or GIT for code management. Conduct data profiling, mapping, and analysis to support data migration and cleansing. Create and update comprehensive technical documentation, including system specifications and flow diagrams. Provide production support by analyzing problems, identifying root causes, and proposing solutions. Participate in change management processes, ensuring smooth implementation of updates and fixes. Top Required Skills & Experience: 10+ years of experience in T-SQL query writing, working with Sybase and MS SQL Server databases. 10+ years of experience in data management, including data profiling, mapping, and validation. 5+ years of experience with PowerBuilder Development (version 7 or higher). 5+ years of experience with source control technologies (TFS, Azure DevOps, or GIT). Strong experience in unit testing and creating comprehensive documentation for program changes and system processes.
