From: Kartik Mahajan, GVR Infotek [email protected] Reply to: [email protected] Workday Architect || Finance and Payroll Location: Annapolis, MD (Hybrid - 1 day onsite per week) Client: Maryland Department of Legislative Services Employment Type: 24 Month Contract USC, GC & H4 WebEx interview LinkedIn with profile photo Candidate MUST Work on Site (2 -3 Days ) This req. need Finance and Payroll - Workday ***Heavy Finance and Payroll - Workday: is Needed *** The Solutions Architect - Workday will be responsible for overseeing and driving the implementation, configuration, and optimization of the Workday Finance and Workday Payroll modules, along with the Human Capital Management (HCM) system, for the Maryland Department of Legislative Services. This role will require a strong understanding of both financial processes and payroll systems, as well as expertise in designing and testing the architecture of the Workday ERP system. The Solutions Architect will collaborate closely with various stakeholders to ensure the seamless integration of Workday Finance and Payroll modules into the organization's workflows, driving process improvements and ensuring regulatory compliance. Key Responsibilities: Design, configure, and test the Workday Finance and Payroll modules, ensuring alignment with HCM and overall organizational objectives. Lead the end-to-end implementation of Workday systems with a focus on streamlining financial and payroll processes. Collaborate with Product Owners, HR, Finance, and Payroll teams to gather requirements and implement tailored solutions that enhance operational efficiency. Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations related to finance, payroll, and HR functions. Oversee the creation of comprehensive financial reports and dashboards to support informed decision-making within the legislative environment. Provide leadership and technical guidance on Workday configuration, particularly in areas of financial workflows, payroll, accounting, and budgeting. Ensure thorough IT documentation is maintained, detailing system configurations, processes, and key decisions. Partner with stakeholders to drive process optimization and align technical solutions with business needs. Required Skills: 4+ years of experience implementing Workday Payroll. Certification in Workday Payroll or Workday Pro Payroll. Expert-level proficiency in Workday Finance and Payroll modules. Deep understanding of Workday HCM, with the ability to integrate financial and payroll systems into the broader ERP architecture. Strong customer focus: able to assess needs, manage expectations, and resolve escalations effectively. Excellent communication skills: adept at presenting to senior leadership and managing relationships with stakeholders across various departments. Extensive experience with project management and leading large-scale Workday implementations, particularly within finance and payroll functions. Experience working with state and federal compliance requirements for payroll and finance processes. Strong analytical skills and ability to propose creative solutions to improve financial and payroll operations. Preferred Qualifications: American Payroll Association (APA) or Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification is highly desired. Four-year degree in HR, Business, or IT. Experience with 3+ Workday Payroll deployments. Strong knowledge and understanding of Payroll best practices. Workday Pro Time Tracking Certification or Workday Time Tracking Certification is desired. Experience with AWS platforms and familiarity with cloud-based financial systems integration. Expertise in process design and automation, with a focus on streamlining payroll and finance workflows.
