| Hello, Greetings from Encore Consulting Services, Inc Job Title: Senior DevOps Engineer Location: Des Moines, IA (Local Candidates Only) Type: Remote Contract Duration: 9+ Months Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced Senior DevOps Engineer to join our team in Des Moines, IA. This role requires a strong background in AWS, containerization, and CI/CD practices. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with AWS CDK, EKS, and service mesh technologies, alongside a proven track record in developing and managing cloud infrastructure. Key Responsibilities: Develop and maintain AWS infrastructure using AWS CDK with TypeScript. Manage and optimize Amazon EKS environments, ensuring high availability and performance. Design, build, and maintain service mesh architectures (e.g., Istio) within EKS. Implement and manage various AWS services, including EC2, ECR, S3, Cognito, and NLB. Work with Docker containers and microservices frameworks to ensure scalable applications. Create and manage Helm charts for application deployment. Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitHub, and GitHub Actions. Apply AWS Well-Architected Frameworks to ensure optimal performance and cost-effectiveness. Collaborate with teams to implement networking concepts and protocols. Enforce security best practices in AWS environments, ensuring compliance with operational standards. Utilize configuration management and orchestration tools for environment consistency and security. Required Qualifications: AWS CDK Expertise: Minimum 4 years of hands-on experience in AWS CDK development using TypeScript. EKS Development: At least 8 years of experience in developing and managing AWS services, with a strong focus on Amazon EKS. Service Mesh: 4 years of experience designing and maintaining service meshes like Istio within EKS. AWS Services Development: 8 years of extensive experience in AWS services (EC2, EKS, ECR, S3, Cognito, NLB). Containers: 6 years of experience with Docker containers and microservices frameworks. Helm Charts: 6 years of experience working with Helm charts. Scripting Languages: Proficiency in TypeScript or similar scripting languages, with a minimum of 6 years of experience. CI/CD Tools Mastery: 8 years of experience building pipelines using CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub, etc.). AWS Well-Architected Frameworks: Minimum of 4 years of experience applying AWS Well-Architected Frameworks. Networking Concepts: Strong understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP, SSL/TLS) with 8 years of experience. Security Best Practices: 6 years of experience in implementing security best practices within AWS environments. Configuration Management: 8 years of experience with configuration management and orchestration tools. Preferred Skills: AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer). Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
