Job Summary: The Division of Information Technology Services is seeking an IT Services Project Manager for the Workday Student Experience. This role will oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of Workday Student implementation projects, focusing on enhancing the student experience through seamless integration with Workday, Banner ERP, and Financial Aid systems. The Project Manager will collaborate with key stakeholders, manage cross-functional teams, and ensure projects are completed on time and within scope, aligning with institutional goals. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in IT, Business Administration, or a related field. 5+ years of experience managing IT projects, preferably in higher education or with enterprise systems like Workday. Strong understanding of student information systems (SIS) and their role in enhancing the student experience. Proven experience managing or integrating with Banner ERP systems Familiarity with Financial Aid regulations, processes, and systems. Proficiency with project management tools and methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, etc.). Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally. Experience managing technical teams and vendors. PMP or other relevant project management certification preferred. Knowledge and Skills: Prior experience with Workday Student or other student information systems. Familiarity with higher education processes and requirements. Hands-on experience with Banner ERP, especially in Financial Aid operations and data management. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage multiple priorities effectively. Ability to lead and motivate others, demonstrating empathy and knowledge of personality types Familiar with project management methodologies (for example, PMI and agile) Demonstrated sensitivity to working in a political environment and to interacting with senior leadership Knowledge of project planning tools Exceptional verbal and written communication skills; expertise in setting and managing customer expectations Effective influencing and negotiating skills in an environment where this role may not directly control resources. Strong knowledge and understanding of business needs, with the ability to establish and maintain a high level of customer trust and confidence. Good understanding of current and emerging technologies and how other enterprises are employing them to drive digital business Experience with academic IT environments and knowledge of the specific security needs of educational institutions is a plus. Key responsibilities And Accountabilities: 90% of the time: Project Leadership and Management: Lead the end-to-end management of Workday Student projects, ensuring alignment with goals, timelines, and budgets. Define project scope, goals, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders. Cross-Departmental Collaboration: Coordinate with IT, Academic Affairs, Student Services, and other departments to ensure effective communication and project execution. Facilitate cross-functional teamwork to ensure smooth project integration. Technical Oversight: Oversee the integration of Workday Student with existing IT infrastructure including Banner ERP Implement Financial Aid systems, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and optimizing processes for efficient student support. Risk and Issue Management: Monitor project progress, track risks, and proactively address any issues or obstacles. Manage project changes and control scope adjustments, ensuring proper evaluation and approval. Stakeholder Communication: Provide regular status updates to leadership and stakeholders on project progress, risks, and key milestones. Ensure effective communication of project changes and decisions to all relevant parties. Training and Support: Oversee user acceptance testing (UAT), ensuring readiness before go-live. Manage post-implementation support and training to ensure successful adoption. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including schedules, reports, and change logs throughout the project lifecycle. 10% of the time: Establish standards and procedures for project reporting and documentation.
