| From: Zara, TechRakers [email protected] Reply to: [email protected] Position Title: Principal Big Data Engineer Location: Onsite 5 days - Santa Clara, CA Duration: 12-month contract (possibility of extension) GC USC W2 ROLE Job Overview: As a Principal Big Data Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our data ingestion and processing platforms, leveraging your expertise in architecture, design, and development to drive innovation and efficiency. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including research, development, and data science, to identify bottlenecks, streamline workflows, and build scalable, high-performance data processing and storage systems. Key Responsibilities: Architect, design, and develop scalable big data solutions tailored to the evolving needs of the organization. Collaborate with R&D teams and data scientists to optimize data pipelines, identify inefficiencies, and implement resolutions. Design and implement diverse architectural models for high-performance data processing and storage, ensuring reliability and scalability. Build robust data ingestion tools to seamlessly integrate data from multiple heterogeneous sources. Stay up to date with the latest big data frameworks and technologies to continuously improve platform performance and adaptability. Required Skills & Qualifications: 3+ years of experience in designing and implementing big data solutions handling hundreds of terabytes of data. Proficiency in large-scale data processing tools such as Dataflow, GKE (Google Kubernetes Engine), BigQuery (BQ), Apache Beam, or similar. 3+ years of hands-on experience with Java in a production environment. Strong problem-solving mindset, with a focus on delivering high-quality, executable solutions. Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and functions. Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, with 5+ years of relevant experience. A Masters degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field with 3+ years of experience will also be considered.
