This role is crucial in transforming the Iowa Workforce Developments (IWD) UI Tax system through cutting-edge cloud technologies. The successful candidate will lead efforts to re-architect mission-critical systems using AWS services, ensuring high performance, security, and compliance standards. Key Responsibilities: AWS CDK Mastery: Lead the design, development, and maintenance of AWS infrastructure using AWS CDK and Typescript. AWS Services Management: Manage, configure, and optimize AWS services including EC2, EKS, ECR, Cognito, Lambda, RDS, S3, IAM, and CloudFront. Service Mesh Expertise: Architect, build, and maintain Istio service mesh within Amazon EKS clusters for secure service interactions. CI/CD Implementation: Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitHub, and GitHub Actions to automate deployments. Testing & Monitoring: Develop and maintain unit and integration tests for infrastructure as code (IaC). Set up monitoring systems and alerts using FluentBit, CloudWatch, and Dynatrace. Helm Chart Management: Use Helm charts to package resources and streamline deployments on EKS.
