Job Title: Google Cloud Platform L2 Support Engineer (GKE/Kubernetes Specialist and Tech Lead)Location: CharlotteJob Description As a Google Cloud Platform (GCP) L2 Support Engineer specializing in GKE/Kubernetes, you will play a crucial role in providing advanced technical support and leading our technical team. You will be responsible for troubleshooting complex issues, ensuring the smooth operation of our GCP environments, and driving technical excellence. Responsibilities: Technical Support: Provide L2 support for GCP environments, focusing on GKE/Kubernetes. Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues related to GCP services and Kubernetes clusters. Collaborate with L1 support and other teams for issue resolution. Technical Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of support engineers. Provide technical guidance and support to team members. Conduct team meetings and technical reviews. Incident and Problem Management: Manage and resolve incidents and problems. Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions. Document incident resolutions and contribute to the knowledge base. Change and Release Management: Review and approve Change Requests in ServiceNow. Participate in change management processes. Coordinate deployments and updates. Monitoring and Performance Tuning: Monitor GCP and Kubernetes environments for optimal performance and availability. Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks. Utilize monitoring tools to detect and resolve issues. Automation and Scripting: Develop and maintain scripts and automation tools. Automate repetitive tasks to improve efficiency. Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with cross-functional teams. Participate in JIRA scrum meetings. Communicate effectively with stakeholders. Documentation and Training: Create and maintain documentation. Conduct training sessions and workshops. Develop technical training programs. Qualifications: Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience). Experience: Minimum 7 years of experience in IT support or cloud support roles. At least 3 years of hands-on experience with GCP services, including GKE/Kubernetes. Proven experience in a leadership or technical lead role. Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in GCP services (Compute Engine, Cloud Storage, Cloud Networking, etc.). Expert knowledge of GKE/Kubernetes. Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools (Docker, Helm, Istio). Experience with monitoring and logging tools (Stackdriver, Prometheus, Grafana). Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Bash, etc.) and automation tools (Terraform, Ansible). Leadership Skills: Strong leadership and team management skills. Ability to mentor and develop junior team members. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Adaptability and willingness to learn new technologies. Certifications (Preferred): Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect. Google Cloud Professional DevOps Engineer.
