Accessibility Lead ( Section 508 / WCAG ) Newark, NJ (Hybrid: 2 days a week onsite) Locals Needed Contract ( W2 / C2C ) Job Overview: Client is seeking an experienced Accessibility Lead to join our team for a project. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accessibility testing and compliance with Section 508 and WCAG standards. This role requires a proactive approach to ensuring that all web applications and sites are inclusive and user-friendly. Qualifications: 8+ years of development experience with a focus on accessibility testing. Strong understanding of Section 508 and WCAG guidelines. Proven experience with accessibility testing tools and assistive technologies. Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities. Key Responsibilities: Develop and document internal processes for web design, development, and testing to ensure compliance with Section 508 and WCAG. Conduct comprehensive compliance assessments using manual reviews, automated testing tools, and assistive technologies. Compile detailed reports on compliance failures, providing actionable recommendations for remediation. Collaborate with developers to address Section 508/WCAG compliance defects and facilitate discussions on potential solutions. Monitor the resolution of compliance violations and ensure effective implementation of fixes. Provide expert advice and consultative support to project teams on integrating accessibility throughout the project lifecycle. Assist project leads and requirements analysts in documenting accessibility requirements and delivering against those requirements. Stay up to date on the latest Section 508/WCAG testing methodologies and automated tools.
