| Job Description - Title: Network Engineer Client: Brevan Howard (Hedge Fund Client) 4 DAYS A WEEK ONSITE IN NYC (56th &6th) Must be open to in person interview Need local candidates, relocation is really not preferred but will consider for an absolute rockstar. Must have financial services background (Banking, investment banking, investment management, capital markets) Skills needed:zScaler (ZIA/ZPA), VXLAN, Palo Alto firewalls, Cisco Must have Low Latency experience. (Working with traders in a high traffic environment) SUMMARY OF FUNCTION/POSITION: This role presents an exciting opportunity to help design, resource and build a new, robust best-in-class network infrastructure for Brevan Howard, the successful candidate will be able to combine their industry experience with a vision for further developments in a fast-paced environment. MAIN DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ROLE: Maintaining data, voice or video network hardware and systems; investigates and resolves network and hardware matters of significance; research, analyzes, isolates, and resolves errors; assesses and updates older networks as needed and in accordance with specified plans. Effectively deal with tickets and incidents passed on from the service desk. Provides technical support on data, voice, or video networks for internal and/or external customers; answers technical questions; recommends and implements approved course of action. Provides technical leadership for data or voice network problem escalation and resolution. Design, deploy and manage a corporate enterprise and executive office environment that is growing at an unprecedented pace. Architect points of presence for peering and internet connectivity in datacenters across the world Manage and develop key supplier & vendor relationships Provide escalation path for fault resolution, talking directly to end users, suppliers, and other teams within the organization Proactive & reactive network monitoring and management, fault resolution, capacity planning, security, patching, maintenance. Working on a mix of projects to include, but not limited to Data Center, Branch Offices, video, and telephony producing high quality documentation for network designs and processes. Deliver simple, scalable solutions and processes that improve the users experience. SPECIAL CIRCUMSTANCES (e. g. shifts, travel overseas, hours): 9 hour working days between core business hours (0800 1800) Weekend and on-call work will also be necessary Overseas travel will be required on occasion PERSON SPECIFICATION WORK EXPERIENCE/BACKGROUND: Essential Desirable: A minimum of 5 years experience of supporting a global network, delivering complete end to end connectivity Proven ability to organize & prioritize multiple tasks daily Strong analytical abilities with a good level of investigative skills Service oriented, accurate, effective, and able to work unsupervised even under pressure Responsive and adaptable in a dynamic, collaborative work environment. Experience of working in a financial background is preferred but not necessary Essential Desirable : CCNP Preferred, Minimum CCNA Support, management, and implementation of Next-Gen Firewalls Wireless (Meraki preferred) Site to Site VPNs on various devices (Inc IOS) Thorough knowledge of various routing protocols: BGP, OSPF & EIGRP Cisco Nexus 9000 Cisco ISE & 802.1x Zscaler ZIA / ZPA Multicast Cloud Networking (AWS preferred) Familiar with Cisco product range Palo Alto VXLAN SDWAN Cisco DNAC & SDA Cisco Call Manager/Collaboration Automation (Python/Ansible/Terraform) SSL Decryption TECHNICAL SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS: COMPETENCIES/OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Self-motivated individual that can work with minimal supervision Able to deal effectively with external suppliers and providers.
