Description of Role: The Desktop Support IV position reports directly to the IIT User Support Services Manager and works as part of the Surgery user support services team. The Desktop Computer Consultant will handle routine firstand second-level technical troubleshooting and determine solutions for more complex issues using documented procedures. A high level of customer service is required to support the institution's mission activities through IT support. Responsibilities include completing installations, configurations, and repairs and modifying complex technology hardware, software, and associated components. The consultant will also identify, troubleshoot, resolve, and escalate technical problems, provide more complex technical information through various communication mediums, and document inquiries and responses, suggesting improvements to unit leadership. Required Skills (10 years of experience in): Knowledge of computer software, operating systems, hardware, and networking Experience with Microsoft Active Directory Hardware and software troubleshooting Ability to work independently and in a team Professional and courteous customer service Nice to Have Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills 3+ years of relevant work experience with Windows 10/11 2+ years of relevant work experience with OSX Experience and knowledge of computer security Interview Process: First round: MS Teams interview Second round: On-site in Madison Additional Details: The selected hire must have an up-to-date flu shot.
