| Job Title -Senior Network Engineer Location -Chicago, Illinois ((Local only)) Duration -12+ months Job Description - 15 years of experience required. JOB SUMMARY FOR SENIOR NETWORK ENGINEER: We are seeking a Senior Network Engineer to join our team, reporting to the Network Manager. You will be a technical expert in network infrastructure, primarily focusing on the design, implementation, and support of network changes. This hands-on role involves supporting network management, troubleshooting complex issues, and working in mission-critical environments. Extensive Network Architecture Experience : Must have 5+ years designing complex global networks with low latency and high-speed metrics. Senior Network Engineering Leadership : 15+ years of hands-on experience leading network engineering teams in large-scale organizations (5,000-50,000 users), with both data center and cloud (Azure/AWS) environments. Expertise in Cisco and Network Protocols : Strong background in Cisco, Juniper, and Arista technologies, plus a deep understanding of key protocols like BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, and Layer 2/3 protocols. Automation Tools : Proficiency with configuration automation tools such as Ansible, Terraform, Puppet, and scripting languages like Python. Cloud and Data Center Knowledge : Deep understanding of Datacenter Spine/Leaf architecture and cloud networking in Azure/AWS. Certifications : A Cisco CCNP is required, with CCIE preferred. Juniper (JNCIP-DC) or similar certifications are highly valued. Strong Troubleshooting Skills : Familiarity with monitoring and troubleshooting tools like SolarWinds, Wireshark, and Gigamon for resolving complex technical issues. Collaboration and Communication : Strong communication skills, capable of working with global teams, and ability to deliver projects in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment. RESPONSIBILITIES FOR SENIOR NETWORK ENGINEER: Define and document Network Engineering Standards. Create Low-Level Design documents and detailed Implementation Plans. Manage the technical lifecycle of products and services. Oversee procurement and delivery of new services. Ensure smooth transition to operations and provide escalation support for complex troubleshooting. Support architecture and proof-of-concept activities. Participate in on-call rotations and extended hours when necessary. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE FOR SENIOR NETWORK ENGINEER: 5+ years of Network Architecture experience in a Global enterprise with responsibilities of designing complex networks with Global footprint and high-speed/low latency metrics. 15+ years hands on experience as a network engineering lead within a global enterprise scale organization (5,000-50,000 users) with both traditional Datacenter and Cloud (Azure/AWS). SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS FOR SENIOR NETWORK ENGINEER: Technical certifications: Cisco CCNP (CCIE preferred), JNCIP-DC, CWNA, ITILv3 Foundation. Strong skills in automation, Python scripting, WAN optimization, and DNS/DHCP management. Knowledge of software development lifecycle, ITIL, Agile, and Kanban processes. Experience with Cisco ACI and high-level troubleshooting tools like Wireshark, is desirable. Additional certifications: Cisco CCNP (CCIE preferred), JNCIP-DC, CWNA, ITILv3 Foundation. Strong problem-solving and customer service skills. Ability to work effectively under pressure and tight deadlines. Excellent communication and teamwork abilities. .
