Role - Snowflake Admin Job Location: Remote Job Type Contract Key Requirements - Snowflake, Data warehousing background, AWS knowledge Job Description: As a Snowflake Database Administrator, you will play a critical role in ensuring the optimal performance, security, and reliability of our Snowflake data warehouse environment. You will be responsible for managing and maintaining the Snowflake platform, including database creation, configuration, optimization, and troubleshooting. Responsibilities Database Administration: Create, manage, and maintain Snowflake databases, warehouses, and roles. Implement and enforce data governance policies and procedures. Monitor database performance and identify optimization opportunities. Perform regular database backups and recoveries. Security: Implement and maintain robust security measures to protect sensitive data. Manage user access controls and privileges. Monitor for security threats and respond to incidents promptly. Performance Optimization: Analyze database performance and identify bottlenecks. Tune database configurations to improve query performance. Implement indexing strategies and data partitioning techniques. Data Loading and Migration: Develop and execute data loading and migration strategies. Ensure data integrity and accuracy during the migration process. Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve database-related issues and errors. Provide technical support to data analysts and engineers. Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of database architecture, procedures, and standards. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Proven experience as a database administrator, preferably with Snowflake. Strong understanding of SQL and database concepts. Knowledge of data warehousing and ETL processes. Experience with cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP). Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Preferred Skills Certification in Snowflake or related technologies. Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash). Knowledge of data modeling and data governance best practices.
