Location: Virginia (Remote). Qualifications & Skills: Bachelor of Science (or higher) education in Electrical Engineering with an emphasis in power systems. 0 5 years minimum experience in a power systems role depending on the level of position applied for. Experience with PSS/E and PSLF is preferred. Demonstrated technical capabilities and strong organizational and communication skills (written and verbal) Demonstrated attention to detail and high standards for producing quality reports and work output. Principal Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions): Perform power system impact studies including load flow, short circuit, and dynamic stability analysis. Prepare reports, letters, one-line diagrams and transmission maps. Process, generate and maintain data as required for other engineering related studies. Take responsibility for the timely completion of projects assigned while meeting all project quality and budget objectives. Identify training needs and present to the Engineering Manager. Perform other duties as assigned. Power Systems Engineer will progress from Level I to Level III with time and based on the performance and capability to undertake more complex assignments as described below. Engineer I Performs individual tasks according to good engineering practice and EPE procedures. Focuses on effectively executing tasks as assigned by Engineer Leadership. Engages in and learns how to use and develop software tools to complete engineering tasks. Participates in teams to collaborate on performing complicated multi-faceted studies. Engineer II & III Ability to provide on the job training or help oversee the work of other Power Systems Engineers. Executes on multiple tasks at any given time. Performs complicated to complex tasks according to good engineering practice and EPE procedures. Capable of autonomously and independently executing on assigned tasks. Participates in multifunctional teams to obtain input, address comments, and perform studies. Assists in developing tools, processes and procedures that enhance engineering study completion.
