Local candidates from the DMV (D.C., Maryland, Virginia) area are preferred. Position Overview We are seeking a Sr. Application Architect to build, test, and deploy components of the SmarTrip backend system in support of the Website modernization project. This role involves onboarding staff for the implementation of the SmarTrip Mobile App 2.0, focusing on application integration and deployment, including development, configuration, testing, and production deployment for applicable SmarTrip components and dependencies. Responsibilities Apply application architecture concepts to assist teams in developing application requirements in specific functional areas. Coordinate work to prevent overlap and ensure alignment with the Enterprise Architecture Framework, IT strategy, SDLC, strategic drivers, and standards. Prepare as-is and to-be application architecture artifacts, including system connection diagrams, application reference models, software requirements documents, interface descriptions, data dictionaries, and application staging plans. Collaborate with data and infrastructure architects/engineers and software program managers to ensure the integrity of application systems and overall Enterprise Architecture alignment. Guide the work of business/test analysts and documentation specialists. Complete mandatory security awareness training annually. Review and assist with system hardening and vulnerability remediation. Utilize exceptional application architecture and software development skills. Employ strong analytical, verbal, and written communication skills. Document application architecture using Microsoft Visio or similar software. Utilize MS Excel for basic software requirements documentation, and familiarization with MS Word and MS PowerPoint. Coordinate software requirements and collaborate with development teams. Plan and deploy complex custom web application programs and process improvements. Perform the application architecture function from conception to deployment. Administer and architect Business Process Management systems. Use Visio and Moqups to document relationships within application architectures. Qualifications Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, or a related discipline. 5+ years of strong understanding of web and mobile architecture. 5+ years of experience with O365 tools and applications. 5+ years of experience using Microsoft Visio or other data/application visualization software for documenting application architecture. 5+ years of experience coordinating software requirements and collaborating with development teams. 5+ years of proven ability to plan and deploy complex custom web application programs and process improvements. 5+ years of experience performing the application architecture function from conception to deployment. 5+ years of experience with the administration and architecture of Business Process Management systems. Proficiency in using Visio and Moqups for documenting application architecture relationships.
